NICE SQUATS MAN. You officially got my squat max beat! That 435 is especially impressive after the Oly's and the 425 rep. Keep it up bro.

all in all the meet was pretty awesome. some real strong raw squats, 600+ benches. this was my first meet, and i just went to watch...but i have to say, something happened that freaked me out pretty bad, but then again it might be a good thing it happened on my first meet.

an SHW was attempting to squat 765, equipped. it's the last squat of the day. i see some dudes psyching him up, hitting him, and him hitting the ammonia. he walks up to the monolift VERY pumped up, grunting, very sloppily. he chooses to walk it out, and as he takes a step back his right knee buckled and he completely collapses with the weight falling behind him. i honestly have never heard a grown man scream like he did, as the EMT's took him away on a stretcher, both his knees were the size of cantaloupes. freaked me out, but i think this was mostly a result of him being careless. MAKE ME FEEL BETTER ABOUT THIS.

    bar x 10
    135 x 6
    135 x 6
    185 x 6
    225 x 4

could have got more on inclines, but i didnt have a spot so i decided not to.

    single DB floor press:
    40 x 8
    50 x 8
    70 x 8
    100 x 8

    JM's:
    95 x 2 x 6
    185 x 2 x 6

    pushdowns + mini:

i pulled my calf friday night playing basketball at 2 am at the hotel, i kicked my friend as he was going in for a layup. he was the one drunk too. i could feel it during the inclines, i think i'll be okay to deadlift tomorrow, but if it dosen't feel better i'm not gonna squat this week.

I seriously think that they threatened Fulmer into actually doing something different for the first time in 15 years. People before the Georgia game would say, "we're playing TN, so they will do the same thing they always do". But this time, GA was very unlucky.

Can't really make ya feel any better about that. Lifting heavy weights isn't the safest of activities. You've just got to be as careful and exact as possible. Even though freak accidents always stand out in our minds, you'll just have to think about all the lifts that are completed without a hitch.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

yeah, you're right man. i just keep thinking about it you know? but like i said, i do think it happened at my first meet for a reason, and i'm not going to be super cautious when i'm lifting. i do think if he wasn't so sloppy, and controlled the weight instead of letting it control him, he could have pulled off the squat, or at least not have gotten hurt.

You're gonna let someone else's injury stop you from being a Freak on the platform? Buddy, I've witnessed dozens of serious injuries as well as suffered some bad injuries myself, and that only made me wanna lift even more. So I will not sit here and allow you to question your desire to be a SHW, when someone other than you had some tiny injury. I will not allow it. So stop questioning yourself, and load up the f***in' bar and GFH!

Lones, I'm going to have to agree with TommyBoy. Don't you EVER let someone elses injury deter you from greatness. Look at it this way, what doesn't kill you is gonna bring you back into the game even harder. And if that guy quits because of his injury, he is a pussy. Simple as that. True lifters never stop bro, EVER. So like TommyBoy said, "LOAD UP THE ****IN BAR AND GFH"!

haha, thats the attitude. my lower back isn't too bad, i have to use it a lot at work. the only place i have a good amount of fat is the gut & hips. my leg genetics are nice, not too much fat, big quads, big calves.
