    PM Session

*in addition to nightly stretching, foam rolling, and 250 leg curls*

    Lateral raise w/Ankle weights, 2 x 50 - 100 reps

    Extensions w/Ankle weights, 4 x 25 - 100 reps

    Mini band pull aparts, 2 x 50 - 100 reps

I did the leg curls 130 wide and 130 with my knees together. The wide ones were pretty hard, I'll keep doing half and half.

Yeah, screw your total - the bloat is good enough for me

Heavy as **** squats for speed work sir. Reverse band pulls for speed pulls is actually a really friggen good idea too, beats trying to setup the quad minis in our rack (4dbs et. al.)

Yeah i used to really like the reverse band speed pulls.

your bloat must be pretty damn good, mine is decent at 5'9 250, but nothing worth getting excited about.

Yeah, I'm going to be pushing my deads a bit more on speed day. The bands were dead, and deloaded at the top, so they didn't take much off.

I was sitting around 308-310, but its super hard for me to keep my weight up with all the walking around campus I do, and walking at work.

I'm hoping the colder weather will help some, but I'm still going to have to walk!

Man I just cannot eat crap like that, my body isn't used to it, haha

And yeah, 315 feels like nothing, around 335-350 is a good weight for speed work for me

I hear ya on the eating crap thing. I was out of town a few weeks ago for the weekend and had to eat a bunch of fast food.....I felt like crap for a week.

Friggin' sweet speed work, too, man. By the way, what's the reasoning behind the reverse band speed deads. I'm just curious. Thanks, bud.

Yeah, I can't take too much fast food.

Reverse band pulls will make you fast, its just like pulling against bands will make you fast. Its the same principle, only one adds tension, and one takes it away, as the lift is completed

Thats not really my reason for doing them though, I'm just laying off the squatting a bit on my speed day, and pushing the deads up some more. I don't do a whole lot of pulling as it is, and pushing so hard like I am on my heavy squat days, it gets hard for my shoulders to recover from.

Cell Block (the PL gym I squat at) does a squat day, and a deadlift day. Speed work isn't done too often, for one because most of them are so experienced, and another reason is they do so much band work.

So you take the fact that Brent has done speed squats for 10-15 years, he doesn't really need them. Plus you can still keep your speed with the bands on your heavy days. Bands will make you fast.

Its just one way to do it though!

Pretty good session today, everything is feeling good. I'm taking my shirt a bit later to get a hole stitched up with industrial thread at a shoe place.

Allergies are messing with me, but I'm keeping my sinuses clear. I've been using the Neti pot 3x a day, it works great.

EDIT: Vikki, I'm eating a huge t-bone steak, a big glass of whole milk, a peanut butter sandwich, and some reese cups for that bodybuilder comment.

She started talking about me having v-taper, what is this nonsense

You should of coated the the T-Bone with Peanut Butter. I'm super serial, its a god damn satay mix.

Big session as always. You know, if you threw in some cable cross-overs you'd really get your upper chest to bring your side burns into balance. Just a thought.
