I don't think there has ever been a meet where I thought I put out my best performance, i think its just part of powerlifting haha.

VERY solid meet though. 120lbs total PR is huge! Congrats.

Ive been in the same situation as you with thinking that a lift was good when it was turned down, its best just to forget about it but thats hard to do. The first time or two it happened to me I got really bad and both times it effected my performance later in the meet. In the end it balances out, if you are going to be doing this for a long time you will also have some very generous calls

Ive had meets where the deads are directly after the bench. my deadlift warmup at a meet consists of 315 x 1 and thats it so I have always liked it, lots of guys lose quite a few lbs off their pull, especially benchers with big arches.

Great work Lones, an impressive total and great jump in your PRs. Suck about the bench but you have made some great moves in your pressing lately, and it will be even bigger next time.

Congrats on the PRs across the board Lones! Although is sounds like you had more in you, it was a successful meet nonetheless.

    Thanks for the responses guys!

I know I'm right where I want to be with my strength, just a few mistakes made a huge difference in my total. I'm kicking myself right now for that last squat though, or trying to, I'm not sure I'm able to move today

I had some time to let it sink in on the drive home and think some about my training, it will be very similar to how it has been. Its been working great for me.

Congrats on the PR's and it was a good meet.

I'll try to get the bench and DL videos up today. Unfortunately, as you know, DJ and I were also caught in the accident traffic, and I think for the first time they actually started the meet on time and we missed Lones entire squat flight!

You PR'd in everything....gotta be happy with that. Will be curious to look at that bench vid when Vikki posts it. Hopefully that guy has your squat videos for you, sucked that we missed them because of that stupid overturned pickle truck........Anyway, great job yesterday Lones!

Get some rest and are you back to training with us on tuesday or recovering?

Great vid. Nice work at the meet man, PRs all over the place! Get your benching in line with your squat and deadlift and you are going to put up one nasty total!
    PRs: 655/525/645 = 1825 Total
    Meet PRs: Bench Only 525

Thanks guys. That 365 wasn't as close as I thought.

I'll keep pushing the raw stuff for my bench, and worry about technique in the shirt come August. Raw strength and shirted technique both need work

Now way??? A ginormous guy with a shaved head wearing Chuck Taylor's at a powerlifting meet??? That almost never happens, lol.

I know you didn't hit what you wanted(does anybody ever?) but that's a nice PR total. You, me and Detard are the worst collection of meet benchers on this board, lol. Haha....just sad that I am older and have way more experience and still suck at it.

You can add me to that list, the list of **** benchers. Not the ginormous sideburned dude.

LOL. Thanks CR, means a lot coming from you. As long as I keep progressing, I'm happy. I was pissed for a day or so I didn't hit what I wanted, but I'm over it. Being pissed isn't going to help me reach my goals.

I set some new goals that I think are VERY attainable for the Pro/Am.

I'll be back in the gym tomorrow though

Congrats on the PRs at the meet. May not have been what you wanted, but PRs are PRs and with the attitude and work ethic you have, you will get there soon enough.
