The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    185 x 8
    245 x 8

these were brutal. i decided to go heavier for a few reasons:
    1. i already beat the s*** outta my body this week, why stop now?!
    2. there was a dance team at the gym, they were all watching me
    3. SFW!

    wide stance:
    295 x 5
    335 x 3
    385 x 2

thats all i could take. no need to mess with nickels dimes or chips tonight.

    GM's:

    95 x 8
    135 x 8
    185 x 8
    225 x 8

    reverse hypers:
    BW x 8
    +25 x 8
    +50 x 8

    roman chair abs, 3 x 10

beat the s*** out of the legs tonight, this week was a pretty intense weak with the iron, depending on how i feel i'm probably going to take it kind of easy next week. i always say that, but never do. monday is my dogs birthday, he'll be 1, so i'm gonna be pretty busy feeding him steaks all day.
    1. You have a dnace team at your gym? Where the hell do you lift at? Curves?!

    2. I'd save some of those steaks for yourself. Why waste perfectly good meat on your dog when he doesn't even know it's his birthday?

    3. Nice leg day. SFW!

    kev- thanks dude.

guido- good call on the steaks. also, yes, i basically lift at curves. its called The Rush, if that tells you anything. the reason i'm there is for about 1 1/2 hours, its the only place that has a GHR, reverse hyper, allows chalk, oly bench, power rack, DB's that go to 150, etc. it sucks and im trying to train somewhere else with a few PLers one day a week or something like that. but for right now, i look at it as a place i can squat, have eye candy, sit in the hot tub, eat, and have a toilet that actually flushes my *****s.

Are the rolling DB extensions sortof like a skull crusher but you let it rest beside your head then roll it to your shoulders then press it up? I saw it in one of the EFS videos but could never find any info on it or the name.

    Nice session anyways.

detard- i think you have the right idea, i saw them doing the exercise on an old westside ME bench workout video, it has 2 parts. you can add bands to them, hits the tri's hard.

Holy crap 70's on rolling dumbell extentions? You're tri's are alot stronger then mine it seems 45's feel heavy on those... or maybe i'm doing them wrong? Awesome work though man sucks about the numbness that definitely doesn't sound too good.

my tri's have always been strong. i could close grip more than i could bench regular even when i first started lifting. rolling DB extensions arent really a strict exercise, thats why they are called "rolling." roll them off your shoulders and press up as hard as you can. what im trying to say is don't worry to much about strictness, roll them off the shoulders, and press them damn things.

    rehab

did a ton of stretching, foam rolling all over the legs and hips, used my tennis ball, etc. i started with terminal knee extensions, because i think whats giving me the aggitation in my bum knee is my femur pushing on my patella a bit. most people have this happen after years of lifting, but thanks to my dislocation i think i'm getting this sooner. nothing i can't take care of myself though. after all that i did:

    CSR:
    45 x 10
    70 x 10
    90 x 10

    pulldowns to belly:
    50 x 8
    80 x 8
    120 x 8

    reverse hypers, BW 3 x 8

    back extensions, BW 3 x 8

    one leg curl machine, 3 x 8

    sit ups, BW 3 x 8

feeling better that i decided to rehab instead of deadlift. im going to start doing terminal knee extension variations twice a week, increasing the difficulty each week or 2. i don't need to be injured now. DE bench weds, and depending on how i feel squats thurs.

    bar x 10
    135 x 3 x 2
    165 x 3 x 2
    185 x 3 x 2

    rolling DB extension:
    30's x 10
    50's x 8
    70's x 8

    pushdowns + mini around neck:
    30 x 10
    50 x 10
    90 x 10

    standing millies, strict:
    bar x 10
    95 x 6
    135 x 6
    155 x 6
    185 x 5

nice quick workout. i got more maximus for post workout, so im ready to add at least 100 lbs on each of the big 3. also good news, my parents are building a garage with a basement, i get the basement for MY OWN GYM. can you say power rack and texas power bar? its gonna be big enough for my strongman stuff too, ive been thinking about how to make 3 platforms for my atlas stone. i need to make a couple lighter stones as well. probably gonna start putting a 45 lb plate in my bag every time i go to the gym, haha. also, i asked elite how to put weight in my keg, heres the link if anyone is interested:

    Nice OH pressing.

I dont understand about the keg thing. couldnt you just take the tap out and fill it with sand?

Also, thats pretty sick about your new gym. Get some pics while your setting everything up then once its ready we'll all head down there for an ME squat session.
