The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

I need to do more back work and also more hamstring work. I decided to do at least one rowing movement on my ME-Lower days which are on Tuesdays. Then I'll do 2 more back movements on Thursdays, which is my ME-Upper days. I'm going to start hitting my hamstrings hard on my DE-Lower days and see how it works out for me.

Plan sounds good. Start raising the rear of the GHR, they will blow up your hamstrings

Is it better to add weight to the GHR or change the angle?

I have no clue. Both? Generally, I think changing the angle is harder.

Max effort squat @ Cell Block

Squats in briefs with Mastodon and blue bands, 14.5 inch box:
    bar x 3
    160 x 3
    250 x 2
    *belt*
    340 x 2
    340 x 2
    390 x 2
    390 x 2
    390 x 2
    390 x 2 - 6 work sets
    430 x 1, smashed

    Reverse hypers:
    4 plates x 10
    5 plates x 10
    6 plates x 10
    7 plates x 10

    Green band leg curls, 3 x 10

    Purple band hip abduction, 3 x 15

    Hangman abs, green band x 5 x 15

Pretty good session, still a bit tricky squatting with bands, but they didn't mess me up real bad like they have in the past. Goal right now is still more endurance/work sets, haven't started with the heavy stuff yet

    Extra

Green band goodmornings - 100 reps

Purple band pressdowns - 100 reps

Ankle weight leg curls - 250 reps

Foam roller situps - 100 reps

Usually do something like this every Friday if I have the chance, just don't always post. I do the leg curls and abs every day though.

You should think about the pro/am. Its always my favorite meet and a really fun weekend. All the strongest guys are there. Plus its in the summer so that's close to vacation time!

Is the masadon really much better then a texas squat bar? The texas squat bar, even with around 1000 on it always felt pretty good compared to the noodle bars at my gym haha.

I don't think it really matters unless like you said, you squat around 900-1000 plus. Its a little thicker and the knurling is really deep, so I guess there's that.

I like using the texas squat bar with bands more, because at least there's a little flex. Mastodon fatigues your shoulders more with bands because its so stiff.

Sauna for about 30 minutes. Didn't mean to stay this long really, but I got to talking about fishing, haha

The shirt work felt pretty good. It always takes a couple sets for me to really nail the groove, but I'm getting pretty decent with it. I can tell some difference with the way the shirt fits since the first time I put it on, the chest plate is a bit tighter. When I first put it on I was probably 275-280 in the mornings, and I woke up this morning at 296.

I'll touch something in 2 weeks then have probably 1 or 2 more times in it after that until the meet. My raw stuff will be a lot of top end movements.

I'm putting together a couple of pendulum waves for my dynamic effort squat work, I have it written out but I haven't calculated the weights yet. Just standard stuff, 50%, then 55%, then 60%. I'm also going to try something different with my pull as well, some block pulls every other week alternating stances. Speed pulls on the other weeks.

I think rotating deads like that works well, if you're someone that recovers well enough from deadlifting. You don't need to max on the block pulls for them to be effective.

Yup. Alternating stances as well. We'll see how it works, up to the pro/am, I didn't pull heavy 10+ weeks out. I pulled an opener but that was it, the rest was squatting. I just did speed pulls.
