The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

thanks dudes. the meet today was badass, lifts were a lot heavier than the last meet. i saw a guy in his 20's attempt a 1000 squat twice, and come half way up on his 2nd attempt. 675 bench, 830 bench attempt, some 700 deads. the north georgia barbell guys are nasty strong. i also saw a guy about 220 benching 525 in an inzer phenom rip his shirt. that was nuts, haha. i had some good conversation with some guys, but i still need to find a legit group of dudes to lift with. i need to look into these north georgia guys.

    ME bench

    standing millies:
    bar x 10
    95 x 6
    135 x 6
    155 x 6
    185 x 6

    JM's:
    135 x 2 x 8
    185 x 2 x 8

played around with bench form and my homeade 2 board

    seated elbows-out extensions:
    20's x 10
    25's x 10
    30's x 10

    lateral raises:
    15's x 15
    20's x 15

    face pulls:
    70 x 15
    100 x 15

a few things to talk about....

    1. i'm finding it works a lot better for me to keep the reps higher on the assistance stuff, instead of trying to go really heavy for 5 reps or something.

    2. i only thought i was over the trumpet ass, its still having its way with me. instead of writing millies, i should have written millies supersetted with sprints to the bathroom. i'm probably just going to end up going to the doctor, because pepto bismol isn't cutting it anymore. i either ate raw meat in my sleep, have a virus thats lasting for a week, or my insides are slowly melting.

    pulls

sumo deads, done from standing on a plate each foot:
    135 x 8
    245 x 5
    295 x 5 (add belt)
    335 x 1
335 x 1 (add v-type, straps down, take away elevation)
    385 x 1 (really fast)
425 x miss (few inches off the ground, if i had gotten just a couple more inches i could have turned on my lockout boosters and nailed it)

    cable rows:
    100 x 10
    140 x 10
    200 x 10

    pull throughs:
    50 x 10
    70 x 10
    stack x 10

    reverse hyper:
    45 x 8
    80 x 8
    90 x 8

all in all a solid workout, with the squirts. i think i'm finally getting my form down on sumo, and i'm beginning to learn my suit. belt should be in tomorrow, so squats should be good thursday.

got my 5X belt today. its too big. on the smallest hole i can slide it from below my chest to the floor. i need to exchange it (for gods sakes, i dont want to wait another 3 weeks for a new one) or do you think i could get a couple new holes drilled in it at a tailor?

You're saying that the extra belt hangs all the way from your waist to the floor??? If so then thats a little too much, I would exchange it

    squats

    oly squats, raw:
    bar x 10
    135 x 10
    185 x 10
    225 x 10

    switch to wide stance
    275 x 5
    315 x 5 (add belt)
    365 x 1
    405 x 1

my back is still sore as hell, and i couldnt handle too much more weight than that on it. all these squats were really deep, i'm working on bringing the weight to a depth that won't even be questionable at a meet.

    leg curls, 3 x 8

    leg press:
    10 plates x 8
    16 plates x 8
    20 plates x 8

    standing calves, 3 x 15

forgot to abs. no biggie, ill do them sunday. okay workout, i need to go back to the regular westside template. this weekend im going to attempt to drill a few extra holes in my belt.

No please, you really dont have to do that. We dont want to see teh thunderthighs.

Thats pretty funny about the chalk. I thought I was going blind one time when olive oil splashed up into my eye but I didnt feel it... everything just went blurry. Nice rolling DB extensions.
