wasn't such a good idea deadlifting this week. the holes i drilled need to be bigger. one set of holes i used a tapered bit and they worked well, but the others weren't as big, and i could barely get it off. 2 friends had to help me. the belt is so stiff! i'm going to make the holes bigger tomorrow. i'm also going to call a guy jeff (elitepler on here) told me to call, so hopefully i can get some guys to train with. also, my mom ordered me some bands for x-mas today. 2 minis, 2 lights, 2 average, and 2 strong. bad workout tonight, but all i can do is put it behind me.

I think you coulda worked on a slightly better progression for working up to a heavy single. Nice rowing.

you're right. i realized my belt wasnt helping too much, so i decided to crank out some reps. basically all those sets were done with no belt. it was a horrible workout, but thanks chubs.

Hey lones when you had mono did you have **** loads of phlegm in your throat? I cant breath out of my nose at all, even if I clear out all the mucous, I still cant because it's swollen shut. Did you ever experience this? Also how long did it take for your tonsils to get better to the point where you could take down enough food to get your weight back up (ive lost about 10lbs so far... I dont wanna be a skinny little bitch when I go to mexico (in 15 days))

the part of mono that was worst for me was definetely feeling like my throat was closing up. i know what its like not being able to eat solid food at all, even drinking water hurts. i didn't really pay that much attention to my weight, i just slept and ate what i could when i had it. to get back to the point where i could eat like a normal person probably took a week and a half. the doc said normally the bigger you are the harder you fall with mono...so maybe you won't be out for as long as i was. you might have to deal with being a skinny b**** in mexico, haha. get your bloat on with some ramen noodles and gatorade. the 2 best things i remember were just making a big milkshake with protein in it, not thick at all, and sipping on it until i finished it...it honestly would take me hours. also, hot tea. just sleep as much as possible and don't get back into lifting too fast, because you can relapse. hope you feel better, and keep me posted!

Bad workouts are important to have so you know when you have a great one.
Out of the night that covers me,Black as the Pit from pole to pole,I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul. In The fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance my head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears looms but the horror of the shade And yet the menace of the years finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate how charged with punishments the scroll,I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.

thats about it. in further news, i finally got the holes drilled in my belt. it fits good, takes me about 10 minutes to get it off still. i've been wearing it around, i even wore it at work today trying to break it in. last night = me with a huge drill and an open pizza box cursing real loud, getting the job done. saw some kid tonight trying to squat 365 with no collars, the pins way too high, and no belt. he got pumped up, unracked it and almost fell backwards, the weights flew off one side, then the other. he turned around and i just layed back down on the bench and did my last set.

    F'N Awesome!!

FYI: TommyBoy's tip on breaking in your belt:
    1. Roll the belt up real tight
    2. Situate it nicely on the ground (outside)
    3. Start up the car
    4. Drive over the belt
    5. Put car in reverse
    6. Back over the belt again
    7. Repeat steps 4,5,6 until it gets softer

I did this to mine, and it fits f'n perfectly.

thanks dudes. i might just try the breaking in the belt tip, i might try that. ive been rolling it up a few different ways, and just messing with it trying to break it in. this could be the answer to all my problems.

    SQUATS

    13 in box squats:
    bar x 10
    135 x 8
    245 x 5
    335 x 5
    385 x 3 (add belt)
    425 x 1
    425 x 2 (add v-type, straps down)

    take away box

    445 x 1
    460 x 1
475 x 1 (straps up, add knee wraps)
    505 x 1

sit ups w/10 lb plate behind head, 3 x 10

F*** YES. I HIT 500. 445 was hard to hit depth in, and it went up real easy, so i decided to put some more weight on. 505 went up well, i hit a nice depth, i know i'm good for more. finally i grew some balls and went for it. squatting 500 has been my dream since i started lifting in high school. now its on the road to 1000. i got some nice brusing from the suit as well. i planned on doing some more stuff, but i said forget it, i was happy enough with the squats. thanks to everyone on here for your encouragement, don't stop now, as i'm only halfway to my dream.

p.s. - ill take a video next week. i didn't have time for that s*** tonight, i was feelin the squats.
