The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Sorry to hear things didn't work out across the board, but dude you gotta be happy with a 40lb PR on the dead! It's tough to manage weight and balance gear fitting right but I know you will be back better and stronger in March.

Thanks guys. Strength and weight were down, not happy with the total but there's no reason to dwell on it. Turns out, the sun still came up this morning.

You still hit two PRs which is a good day. Now you'll just hit and even bigger squat PR at the next meet, since the strength is there.

    Dynamic effort lower

Straight bar box squats, 10 inch box and feet to sides of mono:
    bar x 5
    95 x 5
    135 x 3
    205 x 3
    205 x 3
    205 x 3
    225 x 2
    225 x 2
    225 x 2
    255 x 2
    265 x 2
    285 x 2
    285 x 2

    RDL's:
    135 x 6
    225 x 6
    275 x 6

    Hangman abs:
    green x 5 x 20

    Band leg curls:
    blue x 3 x 15

    Hip abduction:
    purple x 4 x 20

    Situps on foam roller:
    mini band x 3 x 20

First session in a garage gym that belongs to one of my training partners. She has a mono in there, it was great to squat on one in Knoxville. Still kind of in disbelief, haha.

She has only a couple plates but some 35's and 25's. That's why the weights are kind of weird, plus I had collars and my math is terrible. I'm sure none of the weights I listed are correct, but who cares. I was really anxious to squat on that mono, so I picked something to go really light on. It got my hips pretty good though, this was something Luke Edwards said to try.

    315 x 3
    365 x 1
    405 x 1
    435 x 1
    455 x 1

    Close grips, football bar:
    135 x 10
    185 x 5
    225 x 5
    225 x 5

    Pressdowns, 3 x 20

    Wide grip pulldowns:
    120 x 10
    140 x 10
    160 x 10

    DB rows:
    75's x 10
    100's x 10
    115's x 10

    DB shrugs:
    75's x 3 x 20

    Reverse hypers, long strap model:
    2 plates x 10
    4 plates x 10
    6 plates x 10
    6 plates x 10

Not a bad session. Not really calling 455 a PR because the bands were set up a little different, the bands were stretched out but hung higher.

Been eating a little more junk less frequently to add some weight. I start school Monday

You reverse band bench more than you bench in a shirt? You need a different SHIRT! I think most of us bench at least 100 lbs more in a shirt than reverse band. You're strong enough to shirted bench a lot more.

Yes I do, haha. This last meet it slid on in about 15 seconds. Hopefully bringing my body weight up some will help me get a little more out of it. I've already had the arms taken in an inch, I'm going to tighten it up some more when my weight evens out

Training looks good. I would be doing a split if my feet were touching the sides of the mono, lol.
