I did a run of 5/3/1 a few years back and thought the Deload days were a waste. Prefer getting some higher rep work in to at least get some hypertophy out of it. Am I right in thinking you work up to 60% for 5 on the seload week? I ended up repeating the 5/3/1 three times and deloading on the 10'th week and never had problems. Guess it depends on the person though.

That's it. Like I said previously, I've never gone past cycle 2 so haven't done it enough to analyse how it works for me... I suppose a week of light speed work is never a bad thing.

    Nice deload session.

I should have a week of deload soon, before I end up getting ill!

The way I've always hit my deloads is to just go in, stretch, do some lighter, high rep work and see how I feel. There are some weeks when I deload on bench and squat, but pull heavy because I just feel really good, or the other way around. I really just play by ear, there's no set way to deload. Unless you're putting up huge numbers and always putting your body through compressions and such, there isn't really any reason to deload near as often as most people do.

Thanks, and yeah you should haha. I used to loving training with lower reps all the time but you can soon burn out! By the way seeing as you've suggested that I'll get 100kg Military Press by New Year twice now I've accepted is at a challenge! Starting today going to run the Cube Boss Method but with a lot more heavy Overhead work on the 4'th "Bodybuilder/Weak Point" day. That day will look like this -

    Military Press - Work up to 3RM week 1, 2RM week 2, 2 sets of 1 at 95% of 1RM week 3 and attempt 100kg on week 4

Dead Press (Military Press off pins at eye level) - 2 sets of 4-6 (1 set with 100kg on week 3 to get a feel for the weight)

One Arm DB Snatch (Explosive) - 2 sets of 5-8

Close Grip Bench 2 sets of 5-8

    Pushdowns 2 sets of 8-12

Gonna throw some tricep work in too. What do you guys think? Suggestions would be appreciated.

You will have to gauge how that work will affect the bench press day.
