I feel like you can position yourself to get a fuller range of motion and concentrate on the motion and contraction. You should feel them man they feel great.

And no to the BCAA's as they can spike Insulin apparently as they have a lot of Leucine in. Think I'm gonna get a low cal pre workout supplement (probably Pusle V4 off myprotein) for a bit of a boost.
