The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

What the hell is wrong with me?

I've been cutting for about a week now, and late nights I just shut down. I don't talk to any of my friends online, I feel like going emo, and idk, it's weird. My friends have been saying that I'm on steroid rage without the steroids. Like today, one of my friends said something about my sister and her weight, I usually just ignore it cuz he's overweight himself, but I reached over the seat and hit him in the side of the head with my fist, throwing his head against the window and cracking it, and that's nothing like me.

Is this what happens when someone reduces calorie intake?
    Or what?

Ive always thought you had issues but this is going too far.

With that in mind, irritability does increase when on caloric deficit, esp low carb. You still need to get better hold of your emotions.

I thought you were going to focus on getting stronger and increasing LBM?

lol Mr. D, I have my emotions in check, but ever since I lowered my cals, I've been feeling like this. I think I cut them too far, I cut 300 cals. So I'm gonna higher it back up to 100.

I've decided to get rid of this fat on my stomach, then get LBM w/ minimal fat.

    cutting 300 cals is nothing.

Try running UD2.0 and eating 1200-1400 cals for 4days out of 8 and thats low carb.

Well 300 might be a little extreme for the first time cutting.

Hell, I don't even wanna imagine that.

When I first read the title of the thread, my first reaction was "Do you want a list?"

    I kid, I kid.

By 300 cals he meant 300 cals less than what you were using before, not 300 total.

maybe make up for the less calories with some extra sleep. maybe you'll feel more refreshed and less irritable.

extra sleep? I can't sleep, and when I actually try to go sleep, I just lay their away untill about 1 or 2am, then finally sleep and then I have to get up at 6:30 to get ready for school. So I average about 4 hrs, 30 mins of sleep per night. Which is bad for gains.

Warrior, the difference between cutting by 300 cals and 100 cals is neglible. Heck, you can't micromanage that close, and don't kid yourself that you can. Are you telling me that you can measure with any degree of certainty the exact number of cals in a chicken breast or in a cup of broccoli, for example? What if you walked for an extra 15 minutes that day and burned calories that way? Don't worry yourself with the details - this is all completely in your head, and any anger that you ascribe to dieting is purely a cop-out.

It's all in your head. My calorie intake can, and does, fluctuate by THOUSANDS from day to day (averaging 1600 of mostly protein shake during the week and nearly 4 on the weekends when I actually get to lift at the moment). Sometimes I'll throw another thousand or two on if I've had a bad day and decide to take my girlfriend out for dinner. Weight is rock solid at 159, though I'm down a little fat in the mirror probably because of all the Aikido.

I'd suggest stop finding excuses to punch your friends in the head.
