Yes, your muscles will shrink if your cal intake goes down.

Get off the wood and into a squat rack.

Yes. You're going to lose muscle. You need to make priorities and be more dedicated to your goals. Consistency is the key. Not working out for months and skateboarding instead is not going to get you to where you want to be. Where DO YOU want to be, exactly?

Your body adapts to the demands you place on it. In short, you'll get smaller.
But what the hell, do what you enjoy.

Why are you doing something so crappy? Have you taken any advice on this site since you've been here? You're not going to be a monster with that routine...and taking months off at a time certainly isn't going to get you there either.

You should perfect your form, not remove the exercise entirely. If your "spine" hurts on squats, you're doing something wrong.

If you can afford a personal trainer...why can't you afford a gym membership? How old are you? Can you drive?

I would thrive in that environment! Where do I sign up? Sounds like exactly what you need.

Why don't you spice it up academically and replace it with "converses"? Oh snap!

Like I said do what you enjoy in life. For me, I enjoy getting as freaky big as humanly possible and then some. Ghetto gyms filled with crazy ass serious lifters with no regard for human descency is my idea of a good gym. Call me crazy but I'd rather be there than at some neon commercial glam palace anytime.
Keep in mind that I'm a big ass mutherfooker myself.

But seriously, if you like to skatebpard and hang with friends by all means do that. Live the life you want with no regrets.

You'd hate to be a small ass dude, but you take months off from the gym and only do bench and curls because your gyms are too ghetto?

I go to a gym like that, and i'm not even 1/10th of Heavybomber. And I'm one of those people who is capable of speaking correctly as you say you are, what does that have to do with working out? You'll probably find the people in there are some of the coolest/nicest you've met. That's how it was at mine, and it looks like its a crack den.
Been out the game for a little while, but jumpin back in

Guns and knives and that **** are no good but the way to deal with that is to be a leader in the gym and be someone who others admire and be friendly to everyone with no judgement and dish out respect.
At some point you need to find a way to escape that environment.
    That's a tough thing man. I understand.

As far as your original question... If you want both , you're going to have to find the time to lift.
