Nice PRs. Look at it this way, if you've got stronger biceps, you'll be stronger at alot of back work as well.

    Biggie Size Me

Weighed in at 195 today during the day, so probably 190 lbs morning. This is a good thing I think, as it means I have been holding pretty steady for a couple of weeks.

    Self Abuse

Well, I am trying to increase the frequency of my workouts after taking it easy for the past month or so due to the travel. In particular, I am going to be hitting some lagging areas twice a week doing 3 x 8 one day and 5 x 5 the other. At no point am I working to failure, just trying to keep the muscles stimulated and take advantage of all the extreme amounts of rest that I have gotten lately.

Doing more frequent efforts to overcompensate for missed days is not a bad plan...short-n-sweet workout.

    Biggie Size Me

    Still right around 195 lbs.

    Self Abuse

    Chest & Stuff

    Wide Grip Bench
    45 x 8
    135 x 8
    185 x 5
    185 x 5
    205 x 5 PR
    215 x 5 PR

Normal = pinkies 1/4" inside the bands.
Wide = middle fingers on the bands.

About a 4" difference in either direction.

Haven't done any wide grip bench in forever. I wanted to target the chest a little bit more since my normal bench grip is very narrow and tends to emphasize the triceps. Well, it worked I suppose.

    DB Flies
    35's x 8

This exercise just doesn't work for me so I stopped. I am thinking cable flies might work better due to the uniform angle of resistance, but DB flies just make my shoulders hurt and my chest doesn't feel worked over in the slightest.

    Dips
    BW x 8
    +50 x 8
    + 50 x 8

Heh, I jerry rigged a dip belt with a horse lead, a six inch bolt and some clothesline. My dip station at home sucks. The stupid grips on it pinched a nerve in the palm of my hand which is still numb.

    DB Curls
    35's x 8
    35's x 8
    35's x 8

Crunches w/ 25 lb Plate Behind Head
    3 x 8

    Biggie Size Me

Just maintaining for now, been doing some recomp for a couple of weeks at 195 lbs. Starting to lean out a bit but weight is staying the same. Definitely getting stronger.

    Self Abuse

Well, I'm on the road AGAIN, but I managed to have a pretty good workout at Planet Fitness.

    Planet Fitness Total Body Randomness

    Standing Arnold DB Shoulder Press
    50's x 5
    55's x 5
    60's x 5
    65's x 5 PR +1R
    70's x 4 PR +5LB
    75's x 1 PR +5LB

    "Ab Curl" Machine
    187 x 8
    187 x 8
    187 x 8

15 second rest, no release. This machine really needs a bigger stack.

    Smith Squats
    135 x 10
    205 x 5
    205 x 5
    255 x 5 (Tie 5RM PR)
    255 x 5
    275 x 5 PR +20LB

    Leg Press
    410 x 8
    500 x 8
    590 x 8 PR +20LB

    Face Pulls
    110 x 8
    130 x 8 (Tie 8RM PR)
    140 x 8 PR +10LB

    CG Lat Pull Down
    205 x 5
    225 x 5
    225 x 5
    205 x 5
    205 x 4

These are actually kinda hard compared to pull ups since I allow some body english on the pull ups. I still think pull ups are the better overall exercise, but Planet Fitness doesn't have a normal pull up bar. Just some stupid assisted pull up station which has fixed grips in a wide position. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

    Biggie Size Me

Still maintaining weight for the time being around 195. This seems to be a very natural weight for me. I've been recovering well from workouts and basically eat whenever I feel hungry. Definitely a comfortable diet routine that I am in, though I have a feeling I will need to step it up a notch if I want to gain anymore mass. Right now I am happy to just recomp after my bulk and keep building strength without having to go on any extreme cut diets.

    Self Abuse

    Chest / Back

    Flat Bench Press
    45 x 20
    135 x 8
    205 x 8
    215 x 8 (Tie 8RM PR)
    225 x 7 (Tie 7RM PR) DAMN IT.
    240 x 4 (4RM PR!)
    250 x Miss
    250 x 1

Not sure what happened there. The 240 set felt super strong, like I could have gotten 5 with a spot for confidence. Then I unracked 250 and it almost crushed me the first time, like I was just shot. At least I came back and got it, but I had been planning on 260 x 1 for a 1RM PR so that was pretty disappointing. It (really) sucks benching heavy without a spotter.

    BB Rows
    135 x 5
    205 x 4
    185 x 5
    185 x 5
    185 x 5
    195 x 5

    Deadlifts
    255 x 5
    255 x 5
    255 x 5
    255 x 5
    255 x 5

Totally hungover today. Guess things could have been worse but this workout really didn't meet my expectations. I will do better next time.

Thanks stumpy. I think if I shift gears and start working in the lower rep ranges again I can get my 1RM up there. That's the plan anyway... 315 raw or bust!

    Biggie Size Me

I feel like I am losing weight but the scale still says 195. lol

    Self Abuse

    Shoulders, Legs, Core

    Smith Squat
    135 x 10
    205 x 5
    255 x 5
    255 x 5
    275 x 5 (Tie 5RM PR)
    285 x 5 (5RM PR!)

This Planet Fitness that I went to has an actual squat rack in it, but the entire time I was there some high school kids were doing 65 lb "hang cleans" (More like "push reverse curls"). On the bright side, this one also has better smith machines that don't actually stabilize the bar for you. There are guides, but it's a floating bar... You can't fall over, but you also can't really push against it. It worked well enough. Much closer to actual squatting.

    Standing Arnies
    50's x 5
    55's x 5
    60's x 5
    65's x 5 (Tie 5RM PR)
    70's x 3

Pretty good considering I usually do these first and I was pretty bushed after squatting.

    Leg Press
    410 x 8
    500 x 8
    600 x 8 (8RM PR!)

    One word: Jello

    Some Weird Ab Machine
    205 x 8
    205 x 8
    205 x 8

You hold these handles at arm's length (more or less) and do a seated hyper crunch. Weird. It works. *shrug*

    Strict DB Curls
    40's x 5
    45's x 5
    45's x 5/4

After thought... No energy for curls. **** 'em.

    Randumb Thoughts
Never seen so many sorry ass twigs with bulging biceps. Atrocious. Somebody please beat these people with a barbell.

    Got steak?

    Self Abuse

Ham Dom / Quad Acc, DE Chest/Biceps

    Deadlifts
    135 x 5
    225 x 5
    255 x 5
    275 x 5 (Tie 5RM PR)
    295 x 5 (5RM PR!)
    315 x 2 (Tie 2RM PR)
    335 x 1 (Tie 1RM PR)
    345 x 1 (1RM PR!)

    Hollaaaaa

Bringing chalk next time. Deadlifting without it kinda sucks. Oh, and I got reprimanded by an employee of Planet Fitness for not having my shoes on while I was resting in between sets and watching the Pats chew up the Dolphins. She had a cute smile for me though. All good. Nobody called me a lunker.

    DB Walking Lunges
    55's x 8 (PR)
    55's x 8
    55's x 8
    55's x 8

    Pain

    Chin Up / Dip Supersets
    BW x 8/8
    BW x 8/8
    BW x 8/8

    Randumb Thoughts
So, assuming I can snag the one powerlifting/Oly station at this Planet Fitness, looks like I can deadlift and stuff. Pretty cool. If I buy a dip belt to bring for chins/dips and some chalk then I should be all set. I just wish this place had a normal pull up bar so I wasn't forced to either use wide grip or palms facing each other narrow grip. =/

Oh and on a side note, I got transferred to a new division at work which means no more travel for a while! Starting the ETS back up and going to start doing my 4-day BGB split again now that I have a gym to go to and the time to go there. Time to turn it up!

    Thanks Herandi

Nothing wrong with neutral grip, per se. It's just that I always have used the palms away pull up type grip, so now how can I beat my PR's!?!? lol neutral grip seems a lot easier than palms away.
