i been scared of doing GM's due to my lowerback injury from the past. ive tried doing GMs off pins and felt more comfortable with it. will i get the same benefits/results as a regular GM with these?

Absolutely. Great movement. Make sure to arch your back hard.

Huge carryover to the dead. Arch hard, lots of air in the belly.
should i do them on same day as deadlifts or squat/leg day?
Whatever fits better in your routine.
Personally, I like to switch off. One week I do deadlifts, and the next week I do good mornings.
5'6", 145 lbs.
As everybody else has said, off the pins is perfectly fine.
I usually just tap the pins and go back up.
