The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Kills - I like the basic format, as far as the actual weight number, I try to stay anywhere from 50-70% of my max on rep/DE days. The heavier sets of BP were to do a little form work with moderate weight.

Kev - thanks man. really working on keeping my form solid through all my sets

chubs - I got a long way to go to catch you, but I'm damn sure gonna give it a try

    The WAVMO Week 2

    Monday PM Session ME Lower

    DL
    warmup
    315 x 1
    365 x 1
    405 x 1
    445 x miss
    425 x miss
    225 x 8
    315 x 3
    315 x 3
315 x a bunch of singles working on form, switching between sumo and Oly stance

Went heavy today. Was happy to get back to 4 plates. 405 felt heavy, but went up pretty good. Was really optimistic to shoot for 445, but figured why not. 405 is probably a good mark for me, and a vast improvement from the last heavy DL session I did. I did so many sets with 315 and different grips, stances, working on form, etc., that I was absolutely shot. No assistance work needed. Still getting back into it. My big goal for DL is 495, 5 plates.

    The WAVMO, Week 2

    Wednesday PM Session, ME Upper

    BB BP
    warmup
    135 x 5
    175 x 3
    200 x 5 (pr?)
    185 x 5

    Dips
    bw x 12
    bw x 11
    bw x 9

    Tricep Pushdowns
    110 x 8
    110 x 7
    100 x 8

    Incline Machine Press
    90 x 8
    90 x 8

    Shoulder Press
35s x 8 arms shot at this point

    Pace Run
    12 min run @ 8min/mile pace, 1.5 miles

Not sure, but the 200x5 could be a PR. I might have had 6, prob not, but my back cramped up right after the 5th rep. That DL session Monday was brutal and I'm still feeling the effects. When I finished my run I felt like shit. Really rethinking my desire to stay in good running shape because I feel awful after every pace run. I'm sticking with it though

I always have some issues and discomfort with my arch/bench form after heavy pulls. Awesome session man and congrats on the possible PR.

8 min mile after all that? You have more guts than I do. Hats off to ya. Props on the extra tricep work too. My arms are usually shot after the first tricep work out following bench.

Kev - yea, my back is still tight as hell. I'm still getting use to the heavy loads. My work capacity isn't where I want it to be either

City - yea, the pace run is the worst part of Wednesdays, lol. Did the tricep work because I had a little trouble locking out the dips and I'm not use to that.

    Chubs - thanks bro

    The WAVMO Week 2

    Friday PM Session

    Deadlift
    warmup
10 sets of 225 lb for 5 reps, EMOM (alternating between oly and sumo stance each set)

    Pullups
5 x EMOM, as many rounds as possible. got 5 rounds (my back was toast)

30" Box Jumps one min rest between rounds
    21
    15
    9

In lieu of the Crossfit games being televised, I concocted a Crossfit style workout. It was not fun. The 50 reps of 225 in 10 minutes was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Rested 10-15 min between Deads and pullups. My pullups were weak as usual. Rested another 10 min between pullups and box jumps. The box jumps sent my heartrate through the roof. Left the gym feeling like I did something tho. Hopefully I can get in a session tomorrow.

    The WAVMO Week 2

    Saturday PM Session

    Pickup Basketball
    1 vs 1, exhausting

    DB Bench Press
    30s x 10
    40s x 10
    50s x 10
    60s x 10
    70s x 7
    70s x 5
    60s x 8
    50s x 10
    40s x 10
    30s x 10

    Abs
    bw x 20
    weighted 3 x 10 x 110lb

Solid workout. Got a lot of exercise in on the pickup basketball. Did some rep work with the DBs, just to hit my chest a little differently. Went up the ladder, down the ladder from 30s to 70s. Solid day, was sweating good when I left

Well, my journal is back. Pleasant surprise. I was pretty bummed when I thought it had been deleted. Its been over a month since I posted, so here are a few highlights.

    Bench Press
    225 x 1 x 5 sets

Running PRs, hit in this order
16 min jog, 2 miles @ 8 min mile pace
20 min jog, 2.5 miles @ 8 min mile pace
24 min jog, 3 miles @ 8 min mile pace
45 min jog, 5 miles @ 9 min mile pace
15 min jog, 2 miles @ 7.5 min mile pace

Have a cruise coming up in a month, so I'm dropping some weight, running a lot, and doing really high rep work right now. Its pretty damn miserable. Cheers
