    2 weeks out from meet

Hit my openers on squat/dead. My squat opener vid was taped over by the deadlift vid. But I'll post the half of the vid I have.

DL opener, 500x1(new experiment with gear setup and watch how fast the hips slip in)

I was 164 for that training session. My morning weight should be fine. I should not have to cut.

Thanks guys. I just hope I can make 550 look like that at the meet.

You know I'm not worried about your depth, but it seemed as though your last warmup set was higher than your opener. Is this gear combo you're running taking an assload of weight to hit depth?

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

I have the same trouble in my video if you have a look at it, and I'm only using low grade poly. This little piggy has gear that stands up on its own

Thats insane for your weight well done

Thanks again everyone. I am really fired up for this meet. Should be a great time, regardless of the outcome.

Basically, as you warmup and add weight you get closer and closer to depth. My goal in a meet is to only make legal depth on my attempts, not on my warmups. I could squeeze 505 down lower, but I might have to compromise my form to do so. Not worth it for me on a warmup.

Nice, man. So, two weeks out, are you resting now until the meet, or just going to do some light DE type work until a week before?

Tonight will be my last shirt workout(12 days out). I'll work up to my opener or so and then take it off. After that I'll do some assistance, but nothing too heavy.

The rest of the week I will just ease off. I won't be shooting for any PR's on any big lifts. Friday night will be my last session and I will just go up to 3 plates on squats for a few doubles or something(in briefs). Then I'll shut it down and rest for the week. I won't deadlift this week.

Wow, that all looked EASY! You going to kick some arse!
A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

That's pretty much what I do. Only opening weight the week before my rest week. I'll do my opener on Wednesday on bench, then some light assistance, then do light squat and opening weight on deadlift on Thursday and then rest for the next 9 days or so.
