I recently started working out again after a lengthy layoff and I had a few questions about the Built's BGB. Mainly, I am not sure if I am doing deadlifts properly, and since it is such an important (and easily damaged) part of the body I was wondering if you guys could give me a few pointers.
I based my last attempt at deads on
and I have been pretty sore since. It could just be sore because I haven't hit the group so hard before, but I don't want to take any risks at this point.
Also... I don't like rack pulls.... are shrugs a good substitute for them?
I think he could have kept his back arched, or at least straight (looked a little rounded to me), but hey, I ain't deadlifting 700 for reps!
Why don't you like rack pull? Shrugs are good, but I think rack pulls are better. I'm not really intimate with BGB but I don't think the typical routine calls for both heavy deads and rack pulls. You probably want to do deads one week and rack pulls the next, to save yourself from overtraining.
His form was ok but the back was not straight. It comes with heavy weights often.
How do they get 700lbs with 7 plates a side? Am I missing something?
My back always feels slightly sore after a heavy dead lift day. I only do heavy twice a month though. Make sure not to squat or do deads till the pain is gone, But I think its ok to be sore----deads just hurt.
