    Not chalk. The chalk would cause the bar to catch a bit. I'd imagine it's something like baby powder.

    My legs are pasty white, but I had baby powder on them too.

    emjlr3- It's a deadlift. I use my back. My back is very strong. If I tried to squat up my conventional deadlift it would look horrendous. Back soreness is a part of life....back injuries are what you have to avoid.

    your technique is very good. good set. I bet if you paused like 2-3 seconds between reps, you could manage 455x6.

    You pull sumo normally/in competition, yeah?

    A 435 x 6 conventional is awesome - I've got a feeling that your gonna destroy your 530lb PR next time you compete.

    Thanks everyone.

    My bodyweight has been consistently between 166-167 when I train at night(like 6:00 P.M.). So I should be good in the morning to fill out the 165's. This will be the heaviest I have ever weighed in for a meet.

    I do pull sumo in meets. My sumo is stronger than my conventional, so I'm hoping this recent increase in convetional will carry over to my sumo. My lockout has always been my weakpoint with both styles, but it has really come up in the past few months. Tomorrow I am going to pull sumo in my suit and hopefully make 500 look real easy so I can open with that.
