What is the proper way to wear one? Should the larger side be on your front or back side? Ive heard conflicting information.

How about getting a belt that's the same size all the way around?
well i could, but id rather just use the one thats already in my gym.
If you're asking about belts, chances are you shouldn't be using them. Just use proper form and don't worry about a belt.
Man its hard to get help around here. I was just asking for some information. I deadlift and using a belt is a good idea when doing so. so yes, i believe that i should be wearing one. now that we have gotten that out of the way, can anyone enlighten me?
There is a muscle called a transversus abdominus. When you tighten your core, your thoracolumbar fascia is connected to something called a lumbar vertebra (lower back). This apparently turns your back from a weak noodle into an indestructable tank. So keep your core (abs) tight and forget about a belt for now.
I asked about belts here ages ago, i got a similar reply. Not your fault, just read up and research a bit more for yourself.
Hope this helps, and correct me if i'm wrong.
EDIT: and yes, there will ALWAYS be an ongoing debate as to whether or not a belt should be used:
Belt user: 'It doesn't weaken your core'.
Non-belt user: 'It does weaken your core!'
Repeat for several hundred threads.

Big hiatus, deciding on new goals...
People who say it weakens your core can tickle my 36" abs.
And if you're always going to be wearing a belt, who needs a strong core?
... Just kidding.
Use a belt on maximum effort lifts that you feel it would be necessary to have it on.
Don't use it much other than that.

bah, anyone can use a belt.
place the buckle towards the front, how else are you suppose to tighten it?
thanks for all of the help. I will try not to use the belt as much. I figured it was a good idea to help prevent injuries, but if it is going to hinder my overall workout more than it helps then I will just stick to the belt on maximum lifts as suggested.
