Good stuff, I want to vary mine more getting bored of the same thing.
By deloading, I meant pausing with the weight on the floor to reset your grip and eliminate the stretch reflex, as opposed to touch-and-go. I thought I understood that you did that with regular deads but not with SLDLs. I thought maybe that's why your grip was giving out.

Ah right I understand. Its something I'll look at, ordinarily I just dont reach the ground with my SLDLs but do with DLs, maybe flexibility issue. But yeh, thats reason they give out quicker.

Solid day, its' always good when you can surprise yourself by finishing a set you didn't think you could. That's pretty much every bench session for me Chins and pullups are looking real strong too.

    50 burpees for time
    6.58

Left it too late and was about to go out with friends so did this instead of HIIT.

    -------

    05/06/08

    Beach rugby.

    -----

    06/06/08

    Day4 - Ham dom.

    5 110kg SLDLs
    5 115kg
    5 120kg
    5 122.5kg
    5 125kg

    8 50kg GMs
    8 60kg
    8 70kg

8 50kg Front squat (clean grip)
    8 55kg
    8 60kg

    3x8 BW+5kg Dips

    Notes-
SLDLs strong. Grip gave out alittle at end.
GMs are getting pretty slick and consistent. Expect some stronger stuff with these.
Front squats likewise, sitting there alot better.
    Dips okay.

    3miler, HIIT or crossfit tomorrow.

Got a meet at mine on sunday. Openers are: Squat: 125 Bench: 90 Deadlift: 155. There'll be 3 other guys. Ones pretty big and we'll be good competition. Ones injured his hip from rugby so won't squat or dead now and the other has metal in his back due to a slipped disc. It'll be fun never-the-less.

Meet was pretty fun. Squated 135, benched 85 (didnt warm up enough) and pulled 160. Totaled 380kg.

    09/06/08

    HIIT 10secs on/20secs off - 3x7
Okay stuff, need to work harder at begining. Also, should do these more often.

This weekend theres the Isle of Wight Festival - a big music festival - so the plan for this week is tuesday day2, thursday day3 with deadlifting and friday AM before school day4. I've said I'd do actual AM before, but they've always sucked. I'll soon see.

    Day2 + abit of day1

    5 97.5kg Squats
    5 102.5kg
    5 107.5kg
    5 112.5kg
    5 117.5kg

    3x8 70kg Front Squats

    5 130kg Deads

    3x8 50kg Incline DB Bench

    Notes-
Squats felt really strong. Form abit shaky at times, need to be tighter and more consistent. Also, pinched right spinae erector a little.
Front squats good. Last set wrapped towel to protect straining back. Last set also failed to rack the right side and resulted in silly fight with it.
Deads very stupid considering above comments.
    Bench okay.

    4x5 BW+10kg

    2x8 35kg Arnies
    8 37kg

    3x8 BW Pullups

    Notes-
    Millies think I got 5.
    Chins think I did 4set with 10kg.
I should really have posted this sooner.

    -----------------

    14/06/08

    HIIT 10on/20off 3x7

Awesome sets, good intensity. Clearly saw an improvement from previous times. Also played rammstein.

    ----------------

    15/06/08

    Day1 - Horiz.

    5 67.5kg Bench
    5 77.5kg
    2x5 82.5kg
    5 85kg

    5 125kg Deads
    5 130kg
    5 135kg
    5 140kg
    4 147.5kg

    3x8 50kg Incline DBell Bench

    2x8 57.5kg BO Rows
    8 60kg

    3x30secs 20kg Planks

    Notes-
Bench upped weight of middle sets and then managed to bang 5 at the end.
Deads awesome first sets. This should be my base now for getting them back up.
    Inclines okay.
    Rows strong.
    Planks good stuff.

Spent the weekend at a big music festival in my area. Great experience, really enjoyed it. Hitch hiked there as well which was fun. On sat and sun I got back home though to train, eat, shower etc. early in the day. Got to watch N.E.R.D. which really were awesome, as well as kaiser chiefs and the enemy which were all quite good.
Few pounds lighter as a result but I'm also pretty dehydrated. Current goal is to hit 196Lbs by the end of summer.

Yeh, I'm definitly looking forward to that.
I was hesitant but all the shuttle buses where packed and werent picking up along the route.
First there was a woman and her son who owned some stables across the island and the second was this dude who does all the plants for filtering along the side of the motorway and has contracts to the olympics and at Sandhurst (the mil. academy I'm going to).

    Day2 - Quad Dom.

    5 100kg Squats
    5 105kg
    5 110kg
    5 115kg
    5 117.5kg

    2x8 70kg Front squats
    7 70kg

    3x8 107.5kg SLDLs

    8 35kg Curls
    2x8 37.5kg

    Notes-
Squats okay stuff. Last couple of sets form a tad shaky in places.
F.Squats tighter, pretty good. Last set was completely in the hole on 8th and only moved it a little. Some slow reps in there.
    SLDLs deloaded.
    Curlies for the girlies average.

SLDLs - so I'm thinking the 'problem' is that I have really long legs and I naturally tend to have little leg drive in my deads. I think I now prefer to deload of SLDLs and there is still some clear difference between them despite the whole lack of leg drive normally.
Thinking of changing this exercise though and deloading properly on 5x5 SLDLs on day4. Since I'm doing deadlifts and varients Day1, 2 and 4 - even if 2 is an accessory.
    Meh, overthinking.

IMO doing an accessory to deads the day after doing deads is a bad idea. Although you've made great progress so far - how long have you been doing deads on 1, 2, and 4?

Pretty much since I started. But the day2 is lighter because I was always restricted by grip.
I think I'll consult built, which reminds me, I should get on to sending a thankyou message.

    HIIT - 10on/20off 3x7
Then had flexibility session and practised some handstands.

Okay, not brilliant but not crap either.
Think I should look into more variations and probably do more crossfit. Definitly need to fit in more endurance stuff - 3milers or similar - since I swear a my jog warm ups are getting harder.

    5 45kg Millies
    5 50kg

    3 55kg

    5 BW+5kg Chins
    4x5 BW+10kg

    8 35kg Arnies
    2x8 37kg

    3x8 BW Pullups

    3x12 100kg Calf raises

    3x30sec 20kg Plank

    Notes:
Millies bottom sets upped. Felt pretty weak and didnt get a 5th on 55kg.
Chins okay. Again, felt weak. Also need to get head over bar rather than barely my chin.
    Arnies good stuff.
Pullups strong. Thinking I should soon substitute maybe, high pulls or some oly stuff when I get more profficient.

Eating is seriously getting easy now. I underestimated 3700cals yesterday with little effort, I doubt it could be outside 3600-4000

    EDIT: forgot post-HIIT stuff.

I'm already doing them weighted (overhand) 5x5. The 3x8 underhand pullups are accessory. Don't think it would be much of a problem, although I do need to get alot stronger on them. I won't be changing for a few weeks yet anyway.

GMs getting alot more competant at these.

You've got me destroyed on those GMs. I really should start doing them again, but I'm afraid of doing them low-bar. Nice SLDLs too. The deload worked Ok for you, then?

I can do a little better on them, still in learning curve.
Yeh, much prefering that. I have read though that what I was doing were RomanianDLs as I didn't deload. I was under the impression that SLDLs and RDLs were interchangeable names.

Good work in here MJay, I like your consistency.
