    Squat drop set video

This is from my workout yesterday 7/6/07. This was hard as hell. It starts at 450 lbs and I make 50 lb drops to 150. Enjoy.

    Awesome job Chris...
Just for reference.. what kind of drop set could you do raw?
I haven't done a heavy (>90%) drop set in a while.. so I'm just thinking out loud for reference...

Thanks everyone. I was useless for about an hour and 15 minutes after that. I was on the floor for a while, then stumbled to a bench. When it hurts to lay down, you know you're in bad shape, lol. I fought back the puke for about 45 minutes and made it through. That set was so much more brutal than normal high rep sets. I could do 20 rep squats all day compared to that.

I have no clue. This is the first time I ever tried anything like that. I get a lot out of my briefs though, so I would have had to start lighter and maybe shaved some lbs off the drops(like 35-40 lb drops?). That is something I may never know as I don't plan to do this again, lol.

The way you hit the floor and started rolling around is pretty much what happens to me after every workout - LOL.

Good job Chris! Were you guys inspired by the Matt K. video where he does something similar?

Well, only I tried this, lol. I saw his video and the idea got in my head. I think he did his raw, but I wanted to try it in briefs. It was brutal.

Very nice & intense Chris, good job.

From a training point of view, what's the use of drop sets? I'm guessing it's like an overload workout that you do only once in a while to trash your legs? Would it be possible to use drop sets like this one on a weekly basis?

Wait, you give me crap for doing weird ****???... Nice job - looked very, very painful.
A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook
