The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

haha thanks coke. I was looking at your journal the other day with those sick BB rows. I was wondering, do you deadlift? or do you find the bb row covers the back?

Today at the gym I was sooo pumped up. my shoulder was alittle off but no pain just tight and amped up.
    Bench:
    135x8x2
    205x5
    225x1 1/2

Ok so right here I got extremely pissed off. I was soo excited to max bench and this happened. Then i remember an article fuzzy replied to that said if you have enough energy to get pissed off than you didnt put everything you had into the lift. SOOO I shut the **** up and re did 225 on my next set.

    225x3
    245x1 (PR)

soooooo moral of the lesson. don't get pissed off AND if you do, put it towards your next lift.

    DB Oh press:
    65x8 (PR) what what
    65x7
    65x5

    DB skull crushers:
    35x10
    25x10x2

incline DE effort superset with cable flys
    135x10 / 40x10x3
    135x8x2

    tri pulldowns:
    80x10
    70x10x2 (fast)

two pr's in one session after a ****ty start to bench isn't bad. I also talked to daone , the one of the few actual BB's on this site. I'm more into BB than power lifting because I would like to compete eventually but I do like to lift heavy ****ing weights so... I asked him a few questions about how he trains. So now, instead of just compound movements i'm going to train with my compound movements first like i have been, but i'm adding in some iso exercises at the end of the workout. I figure this should help with my weaknesses as well as add some size instead of just strenght. (Assuming diet and rest are in place)

25 lbs from the 1000 club....I can almost taste it.

BB rows are an excellent movement, Thankx...I substitute rack deads for the regular deads, both are great.

I'm really trying to gear my training towards a ME , DE style training. It's hard with two other people but I tend to do my own thing. Today was my first real DE deadlift day. Also today was kind of a realization of deadlift form. it just hit me that i was leaning to far forward, sat back a bit like i was squating, pulled the bar and it went right up my legs along my body. I have some nice marks on my shins now but was a great day because of that. anyways.....

    deadlift:
    135x8
    225x5
    315x3
    315x3
    315x3
    225x3
    225x3
    225x3
    225x3

    powercleans:
    135x5x3

    seated row:
    80x12
    90x10
    100x10x4

it was all about speed today. felt pretty damn good.

used a BIA in class the other day for body fat and BMI.

    Body fat % = 9.9%
    BMI = 26.5

Tired, not alot of sleep. Did eat food before.

    Bench:
    135x8x2 (wu)
    205x5x3
    205x4

    DB oh Press:
    65x6
    70x5x2

skull crushers: (Spent by this point)
    95x8
    75x10x2

alittle speed work with some light dumbells
    35x10x4 / side lat raises 25x10 20x10x2

I'm still trying to gain weight but it's hard these days with school and lacking of money to eat as much as I would like. I seem to be around 164-168 every other week. Winter break should be a better bulk.

    Thanks bro!

First day back to the gym after thanks giving break. I took the last 4 days off to just eat and sleep and more eating and sleeping.

I went by my self today and felt pretty damn motivated.

    DB bench:
    40x8-10x2
    80x5x2
    90x5x2 (felt good)
95x2 - the dbs hit my chest weird so i put them down
95x3 - I tried it again - getting them up from my chest to starting position took alot out of me but still got 3 good ones.

    Standing military:
    115x6x2
    125x4x2
    105x5x2
    95x8

    weighted dips:
    bwx8x2
    bw+45x8,7,6

    speed bench:
    135x3x4

I decided to do 15 minutes of cardio. my breathings been weird lately so. Not bad for my first day back. I expect it to be even better next time.
