The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Really like the workouts, squats overhead and deads. Nothing wrong with that, your Overhead strength is very strong!

Props on the squat effort as well mate.

You are responding well to the increased frequency. I am very curious as to how far you can go with it, I know it works works well for the Oly guys. I may try that for squats some day.

Thanks for stopping by, Kiff! Workouts were fun, but a pain in the ass for sure.

I wouldn't, I actually just stopped doing the program. It was really screwing with my knees and was getting injured a bit.

It also made going to the gym a chore and I no longer enjoyed my time there.

So I recently stopped doing project intensity. The frequency wasn't bad, but I look forward to the gym on weekends.

It made me dread working all day then spending the next 2 hours in the gym. I would work 11-8 then get home by 10:30. That's when I knew this wasn't going to work. I'm sure the program it self had benefits, but it turned something I loved into something I hated.

Back to a West Side template and boy did I enjoy today!

I did try 495 and wasn't able to budge it, but it will happen soon.

That's too bad, I thought you were liking the routine. But I could see how doing the exact same thing so often could drive you crazy after a while.

This week was very busy, but in a positive way. I went to the Disturbed concert on Tuesday so I wasn't able to train after work. Wednesday, one of my customers was in town and invited me out for some drinks. Thursday I fit in both my DE days and yesterday I went to the Goo Goo Dolls. Needless to say, I didn't expect my deadlifts to be very good.

405 was very heavy, so I switched to power cleans and had a very good day! Next week everything should be back to normal. Still sitting right around 190.
