I always felt the same squatting vs bands. The difficulty eases as I get used to the load+tension. You weigh the same as myself these days (with gym clothes on). How does one get a 1/2" deficit? lol

Ha, maybe it was an inch. I used a 10lb bumper plate to stand on. Nothing too crazy.

What are your lifts right now? For the longest time I thought they were 495/315/495 lol. I never noticed "goals" right next to them.

    Ha, yeah...I wish! I've done 395 squat, 435 box squat, 475 deadlift, 280 bench, 185 press.

Issues keep coming up, but lucky I have the rest of my life.

Good day! I think 225 was a PR and I also think 285 was a PR too. Deadlifts were extra hard on Saturday. The plates at this Gold's were smaller than what I normally use, plus the fat bar, and a different setting!

The deadlift was probably closer to 445 than 435 with the fat bar, but 10 weeks ago I failed on a 405, so huge improvement on that already, bet if I had been back home it would have been pretty close to my sumo.

2-3 weeks until I get to test my sumo again, hoping for 495+.

10lbs less bar weight than last week, but I believe the band tension is more. 60% of 385 is 231 so I'm still right around that 60% mark.

One of the personal trainers at the gym started talking to me about the bands and squatting. One comment was "How much do the bands add, 20 to 30 lbs?" I had him step in with just the bar and bands. He could barely keep it stabilized, it was pretty funny.

Haha that's awesome, I love how clueless some personal trainers are. Good stuff with the speed squats and deads though, how long have you been following the westside style of training?
