The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Great lift. And trust me this inspires me very much right now since hitting 500 on my deadlift is my goal.

My max deadlift is 405 which I did on march 1st. I haven't tried to max out again until yesterday. 405 went up like butter, I then really tried to push my limits and put 450 on the bar. I almost got it, I was 3-4 inches away from locking it out but just couldn't quite get it. I'm still happy though I know I'm almost there, and not bad too since I'm not even doing a powerlifting routine right now.

    Again thanks for the inspiration.

    Thanks guys.

View- what is your deadlift routine like? Would you say you are strong off the floor like me? Weaknesses?

Off the floor I'm good, its in the upper mid point that gets a little harder but not by much overall I would say I'm good through out the entire lift. I do have a mental thing where I keep telling myself to use as much leg drive as possible at first ( like I'm trying to push my legs thru the floor ) and sometimes I think to much, when I should just be lifting.

Right now I'm just doing 3 full body workouts per week, but I deadlift every wednesday. I still lift heavy but I don't max anything out, and 90% of my exercises are all compound movements. I've been doing this for a couple months now and have been making good gains ( all my basic 3 have gone up except my bench because my right rotator cuff is not so great so I don't lift heavy on my bench, not like my bench was ever great to begin with though ).

What does your routine consist of if you dont mind me asking?

Great deadlift - setup was good, no pause before you started pulling. Might be a the angle of the video but it looks like your back was a bit rounded off the start though, might wanna watch out for that.

Rotater cuff injuries are a bitch. I'll see if I can dig up this great article I found awhile back on rehab...

    Do you train westside?

Good stuff there, Homey. Your raw/belt only deadlift is probably about equal to mine.

Those are nice deads! I havent done too much in the way of deadlifts but I notice that my hardest part is getting it off the floor. After that Im typically pretty good. What are some good excercises that can help strengthen that out?
