Editor's Intro
Lately I have been looking for a better protein shaker. I've tried the typical crap sold at the local supplement stores and I'm not impressed. You know the type - cheap plastic that smells like whatever was in it last. They try to sell you on the "clump buster," but that's only because they are also trying to sell you cheap protein that doesn't mix very well. The lids eventually crack and leak. The rubber ring starts to dry up and crack. Not to mention it goes missing every time you put the cover in the dishwasher. I could go on for days about crappy shakers.

Fortunately, I was pointed in the right direction and I think I found a winner. I'll write a review on it next letter, but for now I want to know what type of shaker YOU use. I've created a poll and I expect to hear your opinion. What you like about your shaker, what you don't like, etc. I came up a list of what I thought was most popular, but if you have something else that you think kicks ass, let me know!!

Training Tip: Get Your Butt in Gear
One of the most common problems people have when it comes to training the posterior chain is getting the glutes to fire properly. When this happens, other muscles pick up the slack which results in weak or inhibited glutes, which eventually causes a muscle imbalance. To strengthen the glutes try adding in step ups and increase the height and weight as you get stronger. This is a very effective exercise to building up the glutes so they function properly during lower body movements.
Nutrition Tip: Cheat Meals Don't Help
Cheat meals are often used to help deal with cravings and rev up the metabolism. This may be true for certain people while for others it can do more harm then good. If you're body fat is above 15% stick to being consistent. Generally speaking, someone who indulges in a cheat meal who is sitting at a lower body fat percentage then 15% will use the food more efficiently then someone who is sitting above 15%. So until you drop below 15% - eat right!

Last month's poll "What's the best protein supplement on the market?" had mixed results. Out of the listed blends, Nitrean was the winner. But a lot of people were selecting "other" and then listing weight gainers. I guess I should have been more specific. ;)
