Editor's Intro
This month we have two articles on one of the most important movements we can learn - the squat. The first article by Mike Robertson goes into detail on what happens when we squat, why it's important, how to do it properly, and what to expect from it. The second article by Chip Conrad spends time implementing the squat in various routines. One thing you may notice is the use of highly functional movements without getting caught up on what body part does what. I wonder why ... ;)

Know your enemy. That's the theme in Built's new Q&A article discussing the most important variables while losing fat. She provides detailed info on the most common factors and why you should avoid them. Actually, combine this article with last month's carbohydrate article and you'll have a great knowledge base. Read up!

For those of you who are looking for a better way to "warm up" before training, you should look into the Magnificent Mobility DVD from Eric Cressey and Mike Robertson. In addition to serving as a great warm up, the drills contained in this DVD will improve joint mobility, an important, yet often overlooked quality necessary for optimal health and performance. In this information-packed DVD, Eric Cressey and Mike Robertson give you all the tools necessary to teach your body to move more safely, efficiently, and powerfully. With over 30 exercises and the rationale for their use included, you're guaranteed to find drills to get you healthy and take your performance to the next level.

In closing, I just want to remind everyone how much AtLarge Nutrition appreciates your business. Your support has allowed AtLarge to grow and expand into new products and has provided WBB with the opportunity to attract top athletes and authors. Not to mention it helps pay for the servers, hosting, domains, and software!! So thanks again for choosing AtLarge Nutrition.

For those who haven't tried AtLarge Nutrition's products, read the unbiased opinions on the forums, take a look at their sponsor page, and don't forget about the endorsement from the #1 powerlifting gym in the world - WESTSIDE BARBELL CLUB. If that doesn't help you decide, maybe the DISCOUNTS will!

Until next month ...

The Sunday Ritual by Dr. John Berardi

To ensure that good foods will be available when you need them, use the Sunday Ritual. This is performed by setting aside three hours every Sunday to write out your menu for the week, shop for the week, and prepare your meals for the week. Cook all the meat, chop all the vegetables, measure out all the yogurt and/or cottage cheese, and distribute all the powders. Have them ready and set aside so that you can grab them in the morning and bring them with you regardless of what your day holds in store for you.

This tip is sponsored by Precision Nutrition - our pick for the best nutrition and supplement resource currently available. Precision Nutrition, complete with 2 DVDs, 2 CDs, 5 manuals, and an entire cook book, is the last word on eating for optimal health, body comp and performance.
Support Wanna Be Big and At Large Nutrition
Wanna Be Big (WBB) has established itself as one of the top weight training and nutrition websites on the net over the past five years. Updated monthly with articles from top writers in the industry, WBB is a great place for beginners looking for direction or for advanced athletes looking for that edge.

Wanna Be Big Forums were established to encourage discussion of training and nutrition concepts. Our members include everyone from beginners to national competitors, students to PhDs, bodybuilders, powerlifters, martial artists, and even some horseback riders. If you are looking for to-the-point information on everything about getting bigger/stronger/faster, this is the place.

At Large Nutrition (ALN) is the sports supplement company that funds WBB and the forums. Created by Daniel Clough and Chris Mason, ALN went against the grain and promised to put quality before profit. This attitude helped create a loyal following that continues to grow. Okay, the taste of Nitrean certainly does not hurt. ;) If you haven't tried our products yet, please show your support by considering ALN for your next supplement purchase.
