Hi all,
Welcome to the 3rd edition of the Wannabebig Iron to Ink newsletter!
First of all I would like to give a Wannabebig recommendation to a new e-book on the market. Gourmet Nutrition by Dr John M Berardi & Dr. John K Williams is a quality cookbook. Ok, I will get in trouble from John by calling it a cook book ;) It's an optimal eating manual!!
Check out our review of it this issue - Gourmet Nutrition Review
Last week, the Wannabebig crew invaded the 2005 Arnold Classic! Dexter Jackson was the official winner, with Chris Cormier placing 2nd and Gustavo Badell coming at 3rd! A big group of members got together and all met up at the event. From the sounds of it they had a bunch of fun! The show was awesome; they managed to fit in some drinking... Oh and I think they managed to slip a workout in!
Cameras were on hand to catch the action and heres a cool picture of the group! - WBB Arnold Classic group shot
For the full low down on what went on please see the Official WBB Arnold 2005 Meet/EXPO pictures Thread on the Wannabebig Community forums.
I'd also like to welcome Body Heat as a new sponsor to Wannabebig. I've been speaking with Craig from Body Heat for a couple of weeks and he is a good guy. Body Heat watches are pretty funky, so have a wander over to www.bhthewatch.com and check them out!
Lastly we hit 1,000,000 posts on the Wannabebig Community forums last week! They are as busy as ever, and in particular the online Journals on fire at the moment! If you haven't currently got a journal, have a think about starting one up. Its an awesome way to keep motivated and get some great encouragement and advice from our members along the way!
Well, that's it from me this issue.
Over and out.

Tips and Tidbits Squat Your Way To Better Posture The Overhead Squat can be used to assess mobility and stability of the entire body. To properly execute a squat, full range of motion at all of the joints, core stability and strength are needed. One of the simplest ways to asses some general postural deviations in the body is by performing an Overhead Squat. Some examples of what might occur during an Overhead Squat are: - Heels come off the ground
To ensure the heels do not come off the ground, increased mobility in the ankle through active dorsiflexion and stretching the calves may alleviate the problem. Also, self myofasicial release (SMR) through the use of a foam roller may also help. In the upper body, if the arms are coming forward during the movement, stretching the lats, SMR of the lats, stretching the chest (pec major and/or minor) SMR of the chest and working on increasing the flexibility of the shoulders may help. Fat Loss Made Easy Low carb diets are an effective approach when it comes to fat loss. However, they aren't the easiest to maintain and many times people quit before there are any real changes in body fat levels. One of the simplest methods is to get all your carbohydrates from fruits and veggies. Fruits and vegetables are chalk full of mineral, vitamins and phytonutrients that play an important role in the body, especially for those who are exercising.

In this issue, we are featuring the USDA National Nutrient Database - Review by Daniel Clough
The USDA National Nutrient Database is a pretty awesome reference if you are looking for the nutritional information on… well… any type of food! The first page is a pretty simple search. You type in the name of the food you are after and select the food group it belongs to. (Or just search across all food groups, as I normally do) It will then return a bunch of search results for your food term. The first thing you notice about the search results is that there is a LOT of them. Type in the phrase "nuts" and you get 94 search results! So if you know specifically what you know exactly what you are searching for, be specific in your search term. Ok, back to our nuts example. So I pick "nuts, almonds" as that's what I was looking for. You are then presented with a page that allows you to select a quantity for a more exact nutritional analysis. There are a load of different types. I.e. Grams, cups, oz's etc. I was looking for 100 grams, so going with the default I click the submit button and get a huge page with the complete nutritional low down on almond nuts. We're talking all the normal stuff I.e. Protein, fat, carbohydrates, full vitamin and mineral breakdown, lipids and amino acids etc. The best thing about this database is it is HUGE. You can find anything even all of the common pre-packaged foods you find in your typical supermarket. So if you are planning your diet and you are getting exact on those calories, you'll find this extremely useful! A big ole Wannabebig 4 and a half stars for the USDA National Nutrient Database! USDA National Nutrient Database gets an official Wannabebig 4 and a half stars rating!
