Editors Intro

Dear Reader,

It's that time again! Welcome to issue #9 of the Iron to Ink newsletter.

I am going to start off with some blatant plugging of an amazing DVD we are selling on www.atlargenutrition.com, because I am extremely excited about it!

"The Road to the Arnold" DVD chronicles Ryan “Bench Monster” Kennelly’s training and life leading up to the 2005 Arnold Classic. This DVD has it all: awesome footage, a great soundtrack, and its documentrary style really gives you an insight into Ryan's life and training.

I repeat. This is an amazing DVD.

It's a must for any powerlifter.

It's a must for anyone who uses the bench press in their training.

It's a must for anyone whose motivation is flagging. (Trust me, after watching Ryan bench 900lb's for fun, it makes you want to get in the gym immediately!)

Damn, it's a must for anyone who is just generally interested in weight training (and lets face it, if you are reading this newsletter there's a good chance you are). You are going to be blown away with the footage of Ryan's lifts!

Now.. Of course, anyone that knows Chris and I knows that we are pretty picky about what we sell. We will only sell high quality products and will only partner with trusted and reputable companies. This DVD is no exception.

Ok, so enough of me talking about it, you want to see for yourself, right?

I will leave you with some screenshots of the DVD and of course the link for more information and where you can purchase it.

Tips and Tidbits

Curbing Cortisol

Cortisol levels peak in the early morning which is one reason why fasted state cardio has been touted as an effective method for fat loss. On the flip side this also means that it is very catabolic. If cortisol levels are high in the AM performing intense cardiovascular exercise on an empty stomach only makes the situation unfavorable (increases chances of muscle loss). To combat this effect, have a protein shake and some Vitamin C before working out or performing a cardio session.
