    Squats (no belt)
    135 x 10
    225 x 5
    315 x 2
    405 x 1

High Bar Squat (ass touching calves)
    315 x 2
    365 x 1
    405 x 2
    375 x 5

    Leg Curls
    90 x 5
    105 x 5
    135 x 10
    120 x 10
    Drop Set
    120 to 80

    Seated DB Curls
    35 x 10
    45 x 10
    45 x 10
    45 x 10

    Standing Hammer Curls
    55 x 10

Felt pretty good overall today. Squats were ok, making progress slowly but surely. Not having a good belt is really holding me back. Excuses, I know.

I've really been dropping the ball with my diet. Food-wise it's been spot on but I'm not getting enough calories in (save me the lecture Jake lol). Even though I'm def. noticing some bloat now, I've gotten leaner overall these past few weeks, which is definitely not my goal right now. Going to have a big cheat/refeed today and really focus on getting in an extra 500 - 1000 cals a day for these next three weeks leading up to the meet.

Definitely play it safe Nick. Screw the meet if there's even any speculation on your shoulder health in the upcoming weeks.

Your deads and pulldowns are ridiculous!

    And whats's ART???

Active release therapy. It's geared more towards areas that have been injured/have a build up of scar tissue.

I think this latest set-back is pretty minor. I've been feeling around and I finally found the spot, seems to be my delt right where it crosses over-top the bicep. Just a tiny little spot that is tender. I think I know what caused it too, I could feel it faintly when I hit shoulders last week. I should be able to bench this week. I've had this happen in the past and it always seems to disappear after a week or two.

    Thanks Stumps

    DB Rear Delt Row
    35 x 10
    40 x 5
    45 x 8
    45 x 8
    45 x 8

    Cable Lateral Raise
    50 x 10
    60 x 8
    60 x 8
    60 x 8

    Rope Pushdowns
    100 x 10
    130 x 15
    150 x 15
    180 x 12
    150 x 15

    Hanging Leg Raise
    Bw x 15
    Bw x 15
    Bw x 15

Started out light with everything incase I felt any pain in my left side. Shoulder movements felt great, even the lateral raise. I tried db flys with 25 pounds just to see how it felt before I left, instant pain lol. I still dunno wtf is causing this pain. I'm 100% positive it's not my pec. Like I said, it feels like it's right smack in the middle of my armpit.

Weight was up to about 218 after eating Chinese food all day yesterday.

If it's a specific muscle, the main muscle I'd narrow it down to might be the coracobrachiallis. It's a miniscule thin muscle that rides just under the biceps. It starts right at the shoulder area, so I'd guess it could be that. If you don't think that could be it, it could be something with the teres major.

With a fly movment you are going to have those 2 muscles do some stabilizing to a degree.

How do you do the flies? If you kept a strong bend in the elbow I would think it would minimize the coracobrachilis. Leading you to the teres major.

If I stretch too far I can feel a small twinge right under my front delt leading into my armpit. It's more so where the pec major ties into the humerus.

    Just some thoughts and such.

I do flies with my arms pretty straight.

Rack Pull (bottom pin, bar just at knee)
    315 x 5
    405 x 5
    495 x 1
    545 x 1
    585 x 1
    635 x 1
    655 x 1
    675 x 1
    690 x fail

    Close Grip Pulldowns
    120 x 10
    150 x 5
    180 x 5
    210 x 10

    Seated DB Curls
    35 x 10
    45 x 5
    50 x 8
    50 x 8
    50 x 8

Tried to keep form real strict on rack pulls, focused on driving with my legs and using my hips to lockout. Felt pretty good. I love heavy rack pulls because I can get some solid work in while giving my lower back a break.

Very strong rack work. Just a suggestion is to keep the bar at least 2-3 inches under the knee. I feel that the transistion to a full deadlift is greater.

I usually alternate below the knee and right at the knee; rarely go above the knee.

Pain was still there in my left armpit although not nearly as bad as last week. Decided to grit though the pain and go heavy. 385 felt light as hell. Half way up with 405 I felt something pop on my left side, right in the area that's been bugging me. Still finished the lift but it scared me pretty good. No swelling or bruising and I can rotate my arm around in a full ROM without any pain so I'm doubting it was anything too serious.

The fact that I can put up 405 while feeling like shit almost pisses me off even more. Want to be 100% so I can see what I can really do.

and i hate to rain on your strength parade bro but a nagging pain that's been going on for a week+ a "popping" sound = imminent injury. I'd cool it on the super heavy pressing for a while if I was you. Take one look in Rory's journal to see what happens when you fuck up your shoulder and I'm sure you'll agree with me.

I appreciate the concern but a this point I don't care anymore lol. It was either, not bench until I'm pain free which would mean I'd prolly drop the meet, or nut up and risk an injury. I still think it's something to do with my bicep, or a nerve in that area. My chest and shoulder both feel fine which is why I'm not too worried. I've had strange pains like this op up before and then go away after few weeks.

Ohhhh snaaappp!! 405! Good shit man. You really need to video these lifts!

x2 what Ryan said be careful bro. I'd hate to see you sidelined. Are you doing any shoulder mobility work? I just got a little tool called the trigger wheel. I can't comment on it yet because I just got it, but if I like it I'll let you know. It may be something that can help you out.

    Dude.

Saying you don't care about injury when you just benched 405 and have the potential for a 500 raw bench in a few years is really stupid. I say that with the utmost respect since you've always been very helpful and you have years more experience than me, but sometimes it takes an outsider to tell you when you're being reckless for no reason. It's one meet that you're not even going to care about in three months time. It's not about nutting up, it's about not being stupid and risking a career-ending injury.

You say you've had these little niggles and pains before, but you just introduced AAS into your system, and gear is known to cause joint pain and increase the chance of joint injuries in some cases. Why take the chance bro?

I just don't want to look into this journal two weeks from now and see you pressing 95 lbs because you fucked your shit up.

4pps is an amazing milestone that I think nearly every person who's ever touched a weight respects, congrats man.

FWIW my mild discomfort has always stemmed from directly over the long head of the bicep and sometimes maybe a cm to the interior towards the coracoid process. My injury didn't physically limit me in the gym when I backed off, I was just scared so decided to wait for it to get better... here I am one year later. But different from you I wouldn't describe my discomfort to be anywhere near my armpit and to me yours just sounds more like just a strained pec or serratus. Just throwing it out there to be mindful of if it sounds like it could be similar.

No mobility work, although I need to. It's hard to get good vids since I'm lifting by myself most of the time. There's gonna be a few guys I know at this upcoming meet so I should be able to get all my lifts on video.
