View Full Version : Confuse with calories when bulking

Let's say before bulking I'm 145 lbs, and my goal is too reach 165lbs within 8-10 weeks. So when I started doing the bulk I make my calories intake 145lbs x 20, which makes it 2900 calories everyday.

Thus I proceed with this amount. However, after 6 weeks I became 157lbs. So should I continue with 2900 calories everyday, or must I start a new intake which is current BW x 20 (157 x 20)?

you didn't necassarily need to start at 2900 calories, but it's good that you're gaining. As long as you gain 1-2 lbs each week stick with the calories. If you stop gaining, then up the calories.

What your doing sounds fine, its about what works for you, those calculators are okay for a rough guide, but everyone is different and lifestlye's vary on a wide basis.

If you become stale when bulking up the calories but dont jump too high, aim to increase by say 200 a week until your gaining again.
