for the past 8 months i have been training to join the royal marinesI went from 10" biceps to 13.5" at the mo and doubled my bench. The problem is,my mum says she doesnt want me to join.Im 15,nearly 16 yrs old and still have plenty of time to train but she says i will never make it.Sholud i just forget about joining?
Prove her wrong you can do it! Size isn’t everything when it comes to the military, mental toughness is more important than actually physical size and strength…

thats Amazing!
I say go for it anyway. work as hard as u can meanwhile. the worst that could happen is that u dont get in...
But im sure youll get it with achievements like u already have ;)

Sounds like an elite troop, if it's what you want to do give it your all, at worst you'll end up as a grunt in the army like countless of my mate's who love it.

Answer: no.
Reason: You have no reason to give up. You feel great pride in your country, and NOTHING should keep you from serving it. Nothing. I let my mom talk me out of the Army, which I desperately wanted to join, and I still wish I had done a 2 year duty. Of course if I had, I would no be on the track I am on now, which is a one in a million chance.
Do it. Show her what you can do. Show her that her son can beat the odds and be the best.
And hey, if not the best, better than her!

Nonbody's mother want them to join the Marines. It is a decision that you need to make yourself.
Remember, no one has ever been quoted from their deathbed, "I should have taken less risks in my life"
Good luck to you in what ever you decide.

Most people that take too many risks don't end up on a death bed. But who really wants to grow old?
And to answer your question, do you really want to join? If you do, then the final choice is yours, not your mother, or anyone elses. But make sure that you really do want to do it. Make sure that your not just using your mothers disapproval as an excuse not to do it because you really don't.
In other words, live your own life. Our approval or your mothers disapproval, doesn't mean a thing. You know what you want to do, so do it. And don't blame anyone else if you don't.

If it is really heinously hard to make it into the Marines, I'd say don't give up, but DO have a "Plan B". It can't hurt.

Give it time. Wait until you're 18. If you still have the desire, do it. I can't imagine jumping into something like that at 16 or so. Keep working hard, stay in school, and if you still want it after all that. Do it.
