i was doing deadlifts on thursday when, on my 4th rep i felt something in my back on the right side near the bottom of my shoulder blade near the top of the lift. i put the weight down and that was the last thing i did that day because it hurt. later that night and the next morning it hurt like a *****. i coulden't take a deep breath because it hurt so much. now (tuesday) it is starting to feel better but it still hurts when i bend to the left side(like when doing an oblique crunch) and a little bit when i bend over foreward. does anyone know what muscle i could have damaged? was it a muscle? how long should i wait before doing deadlifts again? if this helps it feels like it is hurt around the teres major or minor. thanks in advance

I would just say rest and try to stretch it out at for like 20 min. ED. When my back starts to take a **** it's usually cause I haven't been stretching it properly, maybe it's just me though.

how's it giong IB? well i think that the best way to go is to go to a doctor. 'cause not all of us are experts with injuries, and even for the guys that are, we can't see you. this could be seroius. go see a doc

Take an NSAID.
Ice/heat
Give it a week. Don't do any lifting that puts any stress on it.
If the pain isn't gone after a week, go see a doc.
If you feel any tingling, or any pain in your limbs, go see a doc.
More than likely you just strained or pulled a muscle, but no reason to take chances.
