Alright everyone.... i'm looking for a good multivitamin to take. The thing is though I've tried a couple and they give me a very VERY bad stomach ache, even with food. I've tried men's 1 a day and centrum complete, they both seem to tear my stomach up pretty bad. Anyone else had similar effects, if so what vitamin did you switch too? I'm lookin for a vitamin to switch to that won't upset my stomach. I figure if I can get some opinions i wouldn't have to go and buy and try each one out. thanks guys

The same thing happens to me with certain Multi-s ..I just had to keep trying some and find some that don't piss off my stomach...I'm currently using GNC's mulitvitamin and its ok so far...even on an empty stomach.

Stray,

which ones gave you an upset stomach? I'm trying to see if there is anything common between the ones that mess up my stomach?? I'll give GNC's multi a try though, which one did you get, megamen??

I tried Mens one a day and Albertsons Brand (grocery store here in the south) and Centrum and they all tore me up.I don't know why either..I don't have a delicate stomach..I eat thai food all the time and liquors no problem...just sometihng about them that makes me tummy go nuts.

I am using GNC megamens atm...I'm sure you can get a sample from the GNC guy if you ask..that way you don't waste another $20 on a multi your not gonna use.

thanks buddy,

i'll give Megamen a try, hopefully they'll let me get a sample. Have you heard anything about the vitamin shoppe brand multivitamins? I've heard good stuff about these too.

No but I was interested in trying theirs as well.

Gonna try to make a trip to a Vitamin Shoppe (closest one is quite far from here but the prices look great and might be worth it)

fatsoPanda

Flintstones chewables..I imagine they'd be made to be easily digested..just not sure how they size up with regular multi's.Might have to double dose em or something.

hahaha:D Actually that's what i'm taking now.... my kid sister takes them and i tried one, didn't bother my stomach at all, even on an empty stomach. Thing is though it's really ment for kids. Even taking two would not give you as much as some other vitamins would.

Stick to the Flinstones Man, I had the exact same problem What i done (it worked for me) was i went to the Flinstones at night before bed. Some may disagree but after that i had no Problems.

Well I've been taking Flinstones and my stomach has not been hurting. Also, i've tried both in the morning and at night and results were the same. I plan to be taking it in the morning since i've heard that's the optimal time to take a multi. I'd still like to have a more complete vitamin but i guess this will have to do for now.

I haven't tried GNC or vitamin shoppe yet, Although I plan too. But, I'll let you guys know what turns out for me, hopefully it'll be useful to the rest of you.

GNC Mega Man vitamins are the best IMO.

I've tried One A Day and Centrum...both of which need to be taken with food, but GNC can be taken on an empty stomach without messing you up.

My vote, GNC.

so badass,

Oneaday and Centrum both gave you a stomach ache too??

I take Men's One a Day, and it used to bother my stomach, like yourself. I take mine at lunch time and I found that if I drink plenty of water while eating (which I didn't used to do), and then take the vitamin afterward, it doesn't bother me much at all.

fatsoPanda

so you still take one a day's then.... just at lunch with lots of water. what do you mean by "bother you much", just a little now or what.

Sharkman_75

Right...I still take them at lunch. When I say it doesn't bother me too bad, it's because it'll ache a little occasionally (but this could be because I'm still getting used to drinking more water). I haven't refined my research. I got used to not drinking anything when I ate...so I'm getting back into the habit. But I've been thinking about switching to another multi when this bottle runs out. Perhaps the Mega Man or Mega Ultra...still watching the threads to help me decide.

yeah, i think i'm just gonna try another multi untill i find one that works, if you try mega men tell me how it works out. I also heard vitamin shoppe and Purtan Pride are good multi's. Haven't tried them yet either.

Vitamins always bother my stomach. The only way I've found to avoid it is to get a lot of food and liquid in when I take them.

The worst feeling was that one day I didn't eat anything, took a vitamin, and drank a whole cup of hot green tea. I was nauseous for 30 minutes.

Animal Pak. Tried MegaMan, but not enough vitamins and minerals. Plus, I like the extra aminos and essential fats in the Animal pak. http://animalpak.com/Enter/2_aom/p08_apak.html

Iorn makes me sick too. It's very hard to digest. I take Thorne multi vitimans they have no Iorn and are gel capsuls.

Try there website. www.thorne.com

The ones I get are the Thorne multivitamins III without iorn. They never make me feel sick even on an empty stomach. Just make sure you get the ones without iorn. I have the same problem with iorn.

Some stores carry them. You can get them from chiropractors usually.

I switched to the Costco brand multis after trying a few different others. It has a USP certification that it dissolves totally in the body. Research has shown many cheaper multis are so coated or compressed that they go thru the body like a pebble without being dissolved. The Costco brand doesn't upset my stomach like the others did also.
