Whats up?

i'm an 18 year old football player, and i'm 5'10 175, a friend of mine told me i should go here because ya'll give good advice when it comes to excercising etc.

But the main thing i've been wondering is, is there any type of supplements i could take that would help me improve? I am a safety and a running back and am pretty quick, so i dont' want to gain alot of weight and be slowed down. I'd probably like to be a little more cut, and still be able to gain strength and speed, right now i am only taking vitamins and no supplements, is there anything you guys could reccomend?

Thanks.

So do you want to lose fat? Or gain muscle? If you're like most of us, probably both. To do either, you need to keep your diet in check, and as far as supplements are concerned, hmm... ive been taking ALA (alpha lipoic acid) for several weeks and have got good results thus far. Ive been using it while bulking, and have put on minimal fat while gaining ~3 pounds. Creatine is good too. Other than that, cant think of anything else that would be benefical specifically to you. But check back with me in a few weeks after my ALCAR arrives ;)

More important than any supplement is diet and training. If these two are not in check then supplements are not going to offer much benefit. I would recommend sticking with the whey protein and multi-vitamin, and you might consider purchasing some dextrose or maltodextrin for a pre/post workout carbs source. A fish oil supplement could also be beneficial.

I would stick to the basics for now, and products such as NO2 have not shown much positive feedback, at least from what I have read.

If you want you can post your diet and training, which are the most important things to consider.
