why does it not calculated dietary fiber into the carbohydrate calories on fitday. I eat a lot of dietary fiber, and on days where I have like 250g of protein and carbs, Ill have like 8% more protien on the pie chart then carbs because of all the dietary fiber. Does this mean that I am actually eating more calories then it says or what?

There is no error, the answer to your question is that fiber is indegestible to the human body, therefore they give no calories. Always subtract the fiber content from the carb grams to get the actual amount of calorie containing carbs. For ex, if it says 30g carbs and it says 5g fiber, subtract that from the 30. Fiber is dam good news if your cutting, eat high fiber foods and magically you can consume MORE food with LESS calories!

o and btw, what about soluble and insoluble fiber, what do they count as?

To clarify, soluble fiber provides some calories as a result of fermentation of the fiber in the large intestine by bacteria producing short chain fatty acids. A good discussion concerning this can be found here (http://www.wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?t=34148).

You can add your own custom food items, just use the nutritional content off your tub. If you make it with milk, measure the ounces and you can track that too.
