I plan on starting WBB routine #1 on monday, I am increasing my cal intake and eating lots of protein and fiber. My friends each got huge bottles of creatine and curl and bench everyday, they do have noticeablly increased measurements in their arms and chests, so basically my question is will they continue to grow on their routine, and when will I start to grow on mine?

Your friends will continue to grow as long as they are getting enough calories...Benching and curling everyday is FAR from a good routine though and will produce far from the best results.

It's up to you when you want to start growing. You wanna grow? Eat 10 times more than you normally do. lol. If you wanna get big you have to have a lot of calories, period. You'll grow depending on how your diet and routine is, mainly diet.

What and when should I start eating? Should I just eat everything in site from now until I reach a weight goal?

If you're wondering about creatine...

A supplement like creatine isn't going to do anything for you if your diet isn't in check. First, get your diet in check. That's the most important thing. IF your diet is in check, then creatine can help to a certain extent. You wanna get big? Get your diet down, which includes a ton of calories (maintenance + 500, can you can raise from there if you arn't gaining/wanna gain faster), and then if you want take creatine to help.

Curious, what's your age/height/weight?

The problem is I don't know how many calories I took in before hand. Somedays I would eat once a day, some days I would eat 5 times a day.

I am 17, 138~143, 5'11

How many cals should I be taking in?

If you're worried about getting any fat on you then you may want to learn/think about it more, but assuming you're skinny, i personally wouldn't worry about what i ate. I'd just eat everything in sight if i were you. Of course you don't want to go to mcdonalds 6 times a day lol, but you know what i mean.

I can't say exactly how many cals you need. Not everybody is the same and plus i have no idea how much you ate before...Right now i'm taking in 4,000 a day and i won't gain on any less. Some people that are the same height and weight as me need less, some more.

I'd just start eating everything in sight.

Check out fitday.com...It's a good site where you can track your diet and track your calories each day. Then, you can see if you're gaining weight or not and bump the calories up if you see you arn't gaining...

If you just want some random guess for calories from me...I needed close to 4000 when i started at 130lbs, but a lot of people don't need that much, so if you want to try starting around 3500 or so you can do that and see what happens. Maybe someone else has a better suggestion for how many calories you want...

I don't know off hand but it's probably more than you think. I'm 5'10 and ~190lbs and I eat anywhere from 3500-3800cals per day to maintain/cut verrrry slowly.

Addam, Pinky gave you some excellent advice.

Track your cals on www.fitday.com for a week. I know, it's a pain in the butt. But you need to know what you're getting in.

For now, just use the SEE-food approach. If you get too fat, come back for more advice and we'll talk you through it. For now, make sure you're getting in 1-1.5g protein per pound (I'm a 134 lb, middle-aged chick, and even I eat about 200g protein daily, even while cutting), and at least an extra 500 cals above maintenance from any combination of protein and fat you like.

If you want to get fancy, get some whey protein and some dextrose (dextrose at any beer and wine supply store, or online) to knock back after you lift.

Once you get this part figured out, add in a teaspoon of creatine a day (I don't bother with loading - most here don't either - it's not necessary).

Sound do-able?

I love using fitday.com. It's one of the first things I do in the morning, while im eating my nic big breakfast yummmm because I pretty much know what im going to eat through out the day. Oh god im full, had nice big ice cream dessert since I had plenty of cals to spare.

Oh i don't know if anyone else does this but, I pretty much took everything I eat in the fridge brought it to the computer and wrote in all the nutritional facts so that I can be as accurate as possible.

Yeah, i didn't do it all at once, but over time i have like a million of my own "made up" foods on there. I'm all set now. Easy to enter things in.

Just remember, just like there is no miracle diet supplement to lose weight, there is no miracle supplement to get muscle. Therefore, creatine alone does not help.

People have to rememebr its a SUPPLEMENT, which means it supplements a sane regiment of diet and exercise.

my gf came home and saw me fondling my oats while on the computer and just shook her head :ninja:
