View Full Version : Rest Period During HIIT

Since I do HIIT running on the track, a few questions have popped up regarding the rest period...

Is there a maximum reasonable time that can be spent during the rest period above which the effects of HIIT (mainly fat-reduction) would not work as well? (Disregarding the factor that longer rest periods mean more time spent doing HIIT overall)

And basically I was wondering this because I usually do around 11 sprints but if near the end I started making a little bit longer rest periods then I'd be able to do more sprints, and I've heard (nothing more than heard) that the rest periods aren't what's important but it's the sprinting periods that make the difference (and of course I assume a few more sprints would be beneficial).

Input anyone?
