Between some sets at the gym today I picked up a Muscle Fitness to glance at. It had this intresting excercise I had never thought of trying before. It showed someone doing push-ups under a smith rack and then adding weight on top of it. Kind of like a dip. Anyone ever tried this before?

It sounds like a good way to get injured. Why resort to this when there are plenty of exercises that are more easily performed, safer, and probably more effective?
just do dips or bench press.

Hahaha, it had the guy from the Fantastic Four on it; now is it okay :evillaugh ?
why the hell do you want to be under the weight though? You should ask someone to lie on your back while you do pushup.
