When you make oatmeal, but say putting it and a lot of water in a bowl and then microwaving it and letting the water evaporate. If you do that doesn't alot of the good stuff, like carbs/fiber/calories, evaporate also, kind of leaving you with the leftovers? Or is that not the case? Thanks.

I found that oatmeal tastes like **** when done with water and heated up to a mush. I've been adding raisins and mixing with fat free milk, eating cold. Tasty and crunchy. No nuking it either :)

That sounds good, I may have to try that. Are you using quick oats or the old fashioned kind?

I use the quick ones cause the old fashioned is just a big hard to chew when cold.

Boil some water and have the oatmeal in a bowl. When the water is close to boil pour it in the bowl with the oatmeal and stir it then let it sit for a bit. That doesnt take everythign out of it. Throw a teaspoon of brown sugar and your good to go

Carbs/fiber/calories do not evaporate.
Extreme cooking could destroy some though.

cooking breaks it down, easier to digest
