I remember reading a post by built a while ago saying that if you are cutting you should only do 5x5 on BGB or something along those lines. Does this mean every excercise should become 5x5 or does it mean only do the ones that are 5x5 (bench press, squat, deadlift, biceps curl)?

generally only the compounds are 5X5 (BP, Squat, deadlift).

BGB is not the end all of all programs. 5x5 is a solid scheme for gaining some strength and mass, but there are plenty of other programs out there that work just as well.

Im just wondering when people say 5x5 if they mean for every excercise in that program? If I just did 5x5 bench then I would walk into the gym, bench, and go home. That doesnt sound like a very good program. So im thinkin Built musta meant turning the 3x12 into 5x5, etc.

Also I know there are plenty of programs out there but this is the only one that is designed by someone who has gotten fantastic results and has a detailed description of why it is designed that way. Hell if Jay Cutler gave me his program I'd use that.

No, 5x5's for bench, deads, squats, rackpulls, seated alternating dbell curl, mil press, dips, and lat pulldowns/chins. I took the sample workout from the article, http://www.wannabebig.com/article.php?articleid=255

Ihavetocrushyou - use the sample workout from the article (thanks EvanH) - and only do the 5x5 followed by the 3x8. As your cut progresses, drop the volume a little before you drop the weights you lift.
