I have been taking ATL Creatine 500 for about a month (maybe little more) and haven't noticed much from it. When I was taking BSN Cell-Mass I felt like I was stronger and even looked bigger than I do now. Not sure why this happened. Maybe because of all the additives in Cell-mass and the dose is probly about 4 times as much daily.

First, you can increase your dose of Creatine 500 a bit. I would not recommend going much above 8-9g per day. If you do bump it up I would suggest you do it with 2 servings one in the morning and one in the evening.

Your body is only going to absorb so much creatine. BSN's product may provide for better absorption on a dose for dose basis but all that means is that if you take a bit more monohydrate you will end up with the same retention. That is why we do not sell anything else.

Gutcha! I'll give it a try. Teaspoon in the morning and teaspoon after workout it is. Thanks.

BSN cellmass is the only creatine that works for me... and i have used about 10 varieties.... i swear there is an appetite stimulant in that stuff too

Did you take the normal creatine with dextrose?

No just take a teaspoon and dump it in my mouth and wash it down with 8 oz of grape juice...

BSN cellmass uses Creatine Ethyl Ester
Creatine 500 is Creatine Monohydrate

science has proven some people do not absorb/respond to creatine monohydrate.

so if BSN is the 'only creatine that seems to work for you' its most likely that you're a non-responder to monohydrate.

Also, juice isn't a good choice for creatine. juice contains fructose, which has to be processed by the liver before the body can get usable sugars, which would create the insulin spike you are after.

Stick to dextrose or malto-dextrin for a creatine carb source.

All carbohydrate enters the liver.

Glucose converted from fructose does not enter systemic circulation to be transported to other tissues. Therefore, no resulting insulin secretion.

so then what are some examples of liquids you could wash it down with?

Personally I use water. I know its not optimal but honestly I don't care. Im cutting so anything with cals is out of the question for me.

I recently got dextrose and I mix 1/3 cup into an 8 oz cup and fill it with gatorade; stir it up..toss 5 g of creatine in my mouth and wash it down with the mixture.

good idea with the dextrose. you using the gatorade just for flavoring? because the pre-mixed, store bought, gatorade is mainly high fructose corn syrup, while buying the powdered version (much cheaper btw) is made of dextrose.

Water, ice cubes, dextrose and a squirt of lemon juice: voilą, lemonade.

Yes I use the gatorade for flavoring. I buy in bulk at costco's. Fierce grape is the best. BTW is 1/3 cup of dex into a small 8 oz cup too much? Should I be using a bigger cup?

I think I had better results with cell-mass too. Only about 1/2 way through the creatine 500. I will know better in a month or two. Cell-mass is just so damn expensive and you don't get nearly as many doses as creatine 500.

Dex and gatorade. Well just started with the dex.

You should probably be using at least 60 grams of dextrose with the creatine. What were you using?

Its optimal but really not necessary. I take mine with water on a cut it it does the job.

I was saying this because that's similar to what CellMass uses. If you're going to compare two products, you better be using them with similar dosages...both with the creatine and dextrose (and/or malto).

Ok thanks...I just started taking about 60/70 g of dex with teh creatine a few days ago..I'll see if I get better results. Thanks again.
