I've known a few girls who have driven themselves to starvation. They need serious help.As much as you try, trust me they won't listen. Most of the time they'll end up in hospital on their death beds.It takes alot of patience to deal with anorexia

Well, spent 1 week in the hospital, as I woke up about 10 days ago with a blood sugar level of about 22, couldnt move from my bed, and had to call 911 (they said 19 and lower is comotose)

To much dismay, the docs couldn't figure out what was wrong other than I am severly underweight (6'1, 145-48lbs) and suffering from stomach pains, numbeness and overtraining. So they ran every test imaginable and everything came back negative EXCEPT for my obvious disorder and my liver enzmes are elevated. He told me 40-50 is normal, in the thousands are someone who has hep. B or AIDS and mine sit about 400. So, there is some damage, but correctible. He also knows about my opid problem which he says needs to stop along with nubain for pain. I am taking now (weening off) only 5mg of oxycodone and another 5mg in the am and pm and 10mg of nubain. Slowly weening off and the pain is bothering me big time. I pray that if my weight increases, it's gonna be tons easier to come off (about 9 days I will be dry)........so, now it's a matter of focusing on slamming the calories, forgeting about the damn abs and reducing my training to 3-4 a week MAX! Used to be everyday and obviosuly no cardio. Also, coming off 200mg of test enthantate which should also help. I'm getting better, have a diet on hand that prob. needs the help of a nutrionalisit (seeing one on the 18th) but other than my diet, it's a matter of just eating whatever isn't nailed down (my neighbor is currenlty on the make of a sdozen orgain pb&js for the week to add in. laos thinking about a mass shake of whole eggs, wheat germ, protein powder and peanut butter. Thanks for you support. No more posts other than my thread from me as I just need to focus on myself and get better.

one would think and I hope it does.........its maybe too clean? I got one of those huge huge bags of licorce from my girl.......prob. would send me into shock, but I am sooooo tempted..........red chewy licorice lol.........

Honestly I wouldn't worry about clean or not. Just eat more. I know that's a lot harder than it sounds when one is in your situation, but that's what you need to focus on. You're tempted by the licorice? Awesome. Have at it. I wouldn't eat the whole bag in a sitting as you'll probably be sick as hell, but otherwise have some.

Eat the pb&j's whenever you can fit them in. Don't worry about timing.

Start sucking on hard candy.

Sneak in calories like that. I helped nurse a family member through some of this stuff and things like that helped.

This may seem cold, but I just have to say it. You and others have said the same thing to him over and over - yet nothing has changed. How many times are we going to keep saying the same thing? He has to make up his own mind to start eating. I am affraid there is nothing we, on a message board, can do for him. If he truly has a problem, he is going to have to decide he wants to get better and will need the help of his friends/family on the way. Just my thoughts.

Jeff, I hope you get better, but, frankly, you need to quit coming here and posting the same story over and over. You have a problem, go and fix it now.

No. It looks like complete ****.

It is complete **** because you're sitting there calculating macros, percentages, and all that crap. Forget it, man. I've been there too. 138 pound anorexic with blackouts, loss of muscle control, dizziness, and more self-loathing than I knew what to do with. Am I cured?

Of the self-loathing, definitely. Most people know that.

But otherwise... you need to break the cycle, man. Stop calculating. Just live. And TRUST ME ON THIS, you will still look good. Actually, you will end up looking better.

Does that advice hold true for most people? Or is it simply for people with this disorder? Ive been told a lot to just forget about calories, but could never bring myself to do it becuase I felt like I was "half-assing" my commitment to weightlifting and goals.

Con, it's all about being honest with yourself here. Just because something isn't difficult or complex doesn't mean it's not dedicated.

If, as a rule, you spend five minutes longer than your friends perusing a menu trying to find something healthier, or substitute some plain pasta for the alfredo pasta as a side, or spend a little longer in the grocery store trying to find good deals on the leaner meats, rather than buying the ground chuck, then you're dedicated.

If you're aware of what you put in your mouth, and honest with yourself about what it will do to you, then you're dedicated.

If you go to the gym whenever you can, and otherwise make it a priority in your life, while at the same time realizing that it's a way of life and can't be all or nothing, then you're dedicated.

The brightest flames burn quickest; the most hardcore find themselves the most exhausted, discouraged, injured, and burnt out far sooner than the guy who took it easy. Granted, the guy who took it easy may have taken ten percent longer to get where he wanted to be, but he's still there.

And at the end of the day, he's no less dedicated. Just a hell of a lot happier.

I think thats what his point was. Stop tracking and just eat. and Eat. dont worry about bumping, just keep eating and eating.

Have a large pizza. Followed by a sundae. followed by a large order of fries.

everyday should be free day to overcome this battle.

Well, I'm no medical professional, but I fear that if he were to just slam down a pizza or something then he'd spiral into a cycle of self-loathing and deprive himself of food for the next 48 hours to compensate.

Belial has a great point here. Just live. Remember back to when you were 10 years old and you didn't know what a calorie was. Gosh, there are billions of people in the world who don't use fitday and they turn out just A-OK, right?

Pretty ****ing amazed....put on paxil and xanax about 3 weeks ago (xanax 2 days) and I feel totally rejunivatd. Still overtrained and a tad bloated, but nothing like I was......No oxy for 3 days with little to no sides. I told you I was only taking 1 or 1.5 a day, so that had to be the reason to be able to ween off....thank god!

The xanax makes me tired, good concnetration, but just tired. SO i need to train after breakfast, then take my prescriptios.....any downside to either of these OTHER than addicitons. I am only allowed the xanax for 4 weeks and sparangle 1-2mg a day total.

I got valium which I havent had to use, so I'll dump that onto someone else. Are they any dies withthe other two? Weight gain/loss? Libido? etc?

Something MUST be working....I have been training 1 hour after my first meal and then being a slug the rest of the day to conserve energy. Actually, I work in an office, go home, do some chores, then lounge and EATTTTT! No cardio. When I left the hospital fully depleted I was 140....that was 17 days ago.......today, no cheats and no straying from my diet whatsoever, no missed meals and even eating sometimes at midnight if I'm hungry (a few allmnonds and cottage cheese) and I'm 152.......so many thought the cals would be too low and maybe it's just water weight (300mg test, 400mg eq, 50mg proviron) but I'm getting stronger and just feel 100x better.,...think I'll have to bump the cals soon? For example, last week military 50lb dbells press 3 sets of 10, today 3 sets of 11 with 60's.....thoughts? Keep rolling or would you honestly crank it up a little more to get to a normal weight quicker......I want to be on stage in 2 years, will my progress be too slow? Still visible 4-5 pack in good light..........thanks for all the help!

Hey man, don't worry about the cals. Just ENJOY IT. You're making progress, and hopefully realizing that there's some light at the end of the tunnel. Don't go nuts either way, just realize you're going to be making some good progress for quite some time, and your body will adjust.
